25. It's an honest concern
I am not pimping for a candidate, since I don't have one. And since I live in Texas, I might very well write in Segolene Royal or Tony Benn in November.

But to even pretend to throw support to someone whose primary concern is replacing our progressive federal income tax with the most regressive tax plan being proposed? Gravel is a nut who is almost as bad as Paul on economic issues, so it's just surprising to see his name mentioned by Kucinich supporters.

I guess I will vote for the Dem nominee whoever that is in the general election. As to the primary I may still vote for DK.

Obama a distant third, growing more distant all the time. Hillary.... not an option.

16. Go with Edwards. He was the one to who Kucinich requested his supporters
to go to in 2004. I didn't get why that changed in 2008. Edwards isn't Kucinich, but he's closest to what is running.

17. Definitely Kucinich in the primary...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=4189322&mesg_id=4189322

Kucinich will still get our votes in February. Why?...

One of the biggest issues for me is accountability.

We watched while this administration, with the approval of some in our party, invaded another nation under Bush's new doctrine of preemptive war.

We should remember the millions of lives ruined in Iraq and how this has changed the perceptions of America in Iraq and other countries.

For me this is bigger than the next election.

And again on this issue there is silence...

"‘History Will Not Forgive Those Who Play Recklessly With Our Wealth’- Oil Union Leader’s Speech on Oil Law

2—If those calling for production-sharing agreements insist on acting against the will of Iraqis, we say to them that history will not forgive those who play recklessly with the wealth and destiny of a people and that the curse of heaven and the fury of Iraqis will not leave them..."

Dennis was out front on these issues and others could have easily followed his lead if they thought it was the right thing to do, instead they remained silent.

Both of these issues will most likely come back to haunt us and our children in the long run, at least I can say I voted for the person who took action and showed courage.

As for the general election??? Normally I would vote for the nominee, 30+ years, that may or may not change this year.

23. Seriously?
I just do not understand how a progressive can in any way support a candidate who touts the "Fair" tax, even if s/he has no realistic chance of winning. Whoever I vote for will have made some mistakes in the past, but it won't be anyone who *continues* to support bad ideas.

Though I will leave the thread now, since I wasn't actually a Kucinich suporter yet. Uncommitted 2008!

30. sure the fair tax sucks
But so does the death penalty, or the half-assed health care plans supported by "CEO", for example. They all support bad ideas -- foreign policy, particularly -- but Gravel supports far fewer of them and many mo betta good ones than all three of the other put together. Gravel's pretty good on nearly everything except his tax plan. The other three are pretty lousy on nearly everything, and real conventional thinkers.

28. Same old, same old. Immediate impeachment and prosecution, fix the Constitution, FCC, health care,
things that will be overlooked now that he's out of the race.

Immediate ending of the Iraq invasion to end the usurpation of the economy, the ascent of war-oriented corporations, etc.
