Republicans in a bitter fight in the primary to succeed Dennis Hastert
http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/election08/042

It's fun watching Republicans in a bitter fight among themselves. Sit down, grab a snack, and watch the fun.

Illinois has been a tough place if you are a Republican. The two U.S. Senators, Governor, state House and Senate, and all the major state cabinet posts are all Democratic-controlled.

So Republicans desperate to move up have very few holes to fill. This is why the fight for Dennis Hastert's seat is getting exciting.

And ice cream is involved.

We'll let The Washington Post take it from here:

One of them is Jim Oberweis, Hastert's personal choice and the heir to a dairy fortune who has spent millions of his own money to run three times unsuccessfully for statewide office. His opponent is state Sen. Chris Lauzen, who has returned about $100,000 in donations from an Illinois company that was sued by the federal government for widespread sexual harrassment allegations.

Oberweis has viciously attacked Lauzen over the tainted contributions; Lauzen has repeatedly bashed Oberweis for being nothing more than a spoiled rich ice cream maker.

Illinois votes on Super-mega Tuesday, February 5.

We'll have plenty more on House and Senate races throughout the campaign.

Like Buzz said, grab a snack, sit down, and watch the entertainment!
