Photo of Clintons: Obama Achilles Heel on Other Foot?

Undated Photo With Controversial Fundraiser Tony Rezko Ratchets Up Duel With Obama

An undated photo of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and her husband posing with Chicago landlord, and former Obama fundraiser Tony Rezko, raised eyebrows today. But will the photo blunt the effectiveness of one of Clinton's most recent attack points against rival Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.?

<...>

Asked about the photo on NBC's "Today" show, Clinton said, "I probably have taken hundreds of thousands of pictures. I don't know the man. I wouldn't know him if he walked in the door."

She explained that she didn't feel the photo undermined her criticism of Obama over his relationship with Rezko.

<...>

But one political scientist says he thinks the photo will have further impact.

"Not only does it kill the Rezko issue, but it opens the door for the best remaining shot that Obama has, which is to rekindle Clinton fatigue, and remind voters of all those controversies from the 90s involving the Clintons," argued Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics.

Sabato was surprised that the Clinton campaign, known for its thorough and efficient campaign machine, seemed caught by surprise by the appearance of this photo.

<...>

If anything, the photograph could serve to ratchet up the war of words, said Doug Muzzio, a professor of public affairs at Baruch College in New York City.

"You know that old maxim, 'People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.' Well, the Clintons have been throwing boulders," said Muzzio. "And now, they've got a hole in their house. Now, they have to explain how this guy got in the picture with them. The camera's back on them. The way to come back is to escalate it, and that's what they will do. This is a heavyweight bout, and one of them's got to win."

Hillary received $130,000 from an lawyer linked to Rezko.

They "missed" checks from the guy's wife and employees.

The person who missed them on the first run-through needs to be tossed from the campaign. Publicly and soon.

6. Hey! I guessed correctly in the poll
I voted for over $100,000 (to the Clintons from Rezko), but I was just being snarky.

Well, not entirely. The Clintons have taken oodles of dollars from questionable sources before.

Restricting it to just Hillary, there is this guy:

Norman Hsu. A now convicted felon.

So my snarky guess wasn't just snark. And to be vindicated in the same evening, well it just warms the cockles of my heart.

12. Are you saying that Norman Hsu isn't a convicted felon?
Or that he didn't arrange for a bunch of money to be funnel through a whole set of immigrants into the Hillary campaign?

Because I lived near San Francisco when this all went down... and it was all over the newspapers there. Those families that contributed to Hillary didn't have two nickels to rub together, but they all knew "Uncle Norman".

Again, Hillary supporters just don't want to "go there" about the ethics of the contributors to Obama. The Clintons are much more questionable in what they've done in raising campaign money. And the company they've kept over the years.

You can say a lot of things about the Clintons... but don't start with the "They are as clean as the driven snow".

22. So... let's see... they've been exhaustively investigated...
and it's just begun with Obama.

And your assumption is that Obama, being just like the Clintons, will have so many questionable deals with convicted felons in his background that what? he will be just as bad as Hillary?

That's a huge assumption to make, isn't it?

Or are you so jaded by the years of Clinton ethics scandals and the years of Abramoff and Tom Delay and all of the other repuke slimeballs that you think all politicians are crooks or worse and that we don't know about Obama simply because he hasn't been looked at very hard?

In any event, you didn't answer the direct question I posted...

Is Norman Hsu a convicted felon?

Did Norman Hsu skirt a number of campaign contribution laws and illegally contribute money to Hillary Clinton?

8. Hillary knows she can't win on fighting the "fund-raiser" battle.
That's why she was content to slime him with the "slum" title and let racist/classist feelings do their work.

"We never said he was a MUSLIIIIIM!"
"We never said anything about his COCAAAAAINE USE!"
"We didn't play the RAAAACE CAAARD!"

11. The wrong name
I have surmised after your constant spamming threads, that your true name, based on the abject absence of insight and critical thinking skills, is NON sense,as that is what you post.

Not only do you repetitively open threads which have already endlessly repeated threads before you, but you have no coherent logic...ever.

You think that a publicity picture for a fundraiser, of which there are tens of thousands, is equal to Obama's direct contributions from Rezko and his friendship with the man? You aren't that intellectually dishonest, are you?

Rezko basically facilitated Obama's purchase of a home he still couldn't afford, especially since the property owner insisted on an adjacent lot being purchased. It doesn't get any more incestuous than that. Yet, you would posit that a picture of a donor, being wheeled endlessly in front of a President who has a 10 second photo op and handshake is the same thing?

No wonder we NON-Obamites think you guys are cultists.

19. Oh no.. that's not what was explained to me by
the Hillaryites, or HillShills or whatever... (since YOU used Obamites, I can respond in kind).

You see, this is all just politics. Rough and Tumble stuff. If you can't stand the heat, blah blah blah.

So someone found a picture of the Clintons with Rezko (the evil dark master influence peddler de jour), and you cry "foul!". Guess what. The facts of the case here don't matter a damn, just as they don't matter for those who have already convicted Obama of being a liar and a crook (recent OP here this evening).

We are long done with debating any substantive issues.

Now it's just a knife fight to see who can out slime the other. Because, as a HillShill told me earlier, the Republicans are going to do worse to us in the fall. So we need to see who can slime the hardest, who can catapult the propaganda. Do anything, say anything but just win.

John better get with the program here and start his own campaign of lies, distortions, half truths and, if all the fails, outright voter suppression, cause otherwise he will be a "looooooser".

:sarcasm:

16. Clinton's response to photo
Fact Sheet: Tony Rezko

1/25/2008 9:32:51 AM

Today, NBC aired an undated photo of Hillary and Bill Clinton taken with Tony Rezko and tried to compare that picture to Sen. Obama's 17-year relationship with the indicted influence peddler. Over the course of her career, Hillary has probably taken tens of thousands of photos. Here are some facts you should know:

Tony Rezko has never contributed a dime to Hillary or Bill Clinton. They have no relationship with Tony Rezko.

Tony Rezko has been described as Sen. Obama's "political patron" and friend of 17 years.

The rest of the blurb has to do with Obama and Rezko.

24. We know the other candidate's surrogates will post this over and over BUT
THE truth is...the picture was taken at a democratic fund raiser for Carol Mosley-Braun almost 20 years ago when she was running for re-election in Illinois...now rezko gave Braum $10,000 HE DID NOT GIVE IT TO HILLARY.
And it is odd that the only person who would have a copy of this picture happens to be the OTHER candidate's buddy buddy. And why would the picture surface now..right now...when the heat was on him for having this gangster buddy...just like Ryan and the sex club fisaco when Ryan was leading in the polls and the other candidate was way behind.

But then there is an organization investigating this I saw on HUFFPUFF.

25. So Obama is a slime ball too
To releae this kind of publicity (dont think for a second his camp wan't behind this) after whinning about everything he has been, it is obvious that Clinton and Obama do not deserve to be nominated. I hope the people in SC can see what is going on here and vote for someone who might actually represent them, instead of these politicians. Very disturbing that both of these clowns are actually winning right now.
