another done with Hillary...
was leaning Edwards anyways but after the last few days reading here seeing the disgusting attitude of SOME HRC fans I'm gonna sit this out if Obama doesn't win.

Don't bother telling me how I'm sitting a repug if I dont vote because we are on the verge of sitting the dirtiest campaigner I've ever seen as ours.

SCREW HRC!

I'll vote third party if she is the nominee.
HOW do you supporters back this shit her SUPPORTERS spew?

4. so should the HRC people sit out
If Obama wins? This isn't High School, and as much as I am for HRC 100%, I'm not going to sit home if Obama wins. Obama and Clinton are alot closer than the Dems and the Repubs are. I thought you Obama people were about "Unity" yet threaten to divide if your guy doesn't win. C'mon. This can't be a serious post is it?

Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 02:42 AM by TwoSparkles
If she is our nominee, that it is a sad, disgusting day for our
party.

People get angry and accuse people like me of ensuring a Republican
victory. In my opinion, Hillary and her ham-handed, revolting, win-at
all-costs mentality--and her supporters who rationalize her Nixonian
games and dishonesty---are the ones destroying our party.

Those are the people who are ensuring a Republican victory.

You can't serve me up a bowl of shit, and then get angry when I
won't eat it.

48. It wouldn't happen
If Gore wanted to stop Hillary he'd be in the race for the nomination.

But if fantasy came true and Gore ran as a third party candidate, I would vote for him over Hillary if he had a chance to win. But he wouldn't run for president and split the democratic vote to hand the vitory to the republican candidate. There is no chance of that.

What sort of logic is this? You refuse to vote for her NOT because of her policies, positions, voting record, general demeanor, gender, cackling, etc. You won't vote for her because of anonymous dipshits posting on a little public forum?

That's fucking genius.

I'm no fan of Clinton and will not vote for her, but I can list all sorts of reasons.

And I'm afraid his OP is probably closer to the truth.

You may be giving your reason here and transferring it onto the OP. And I've no problem with the reason you've provided, though I find decisions about whom to support based on how a campaign is run versus the positions of the candidates a bit shallow. But that's just me.

Perhaps the OP doesn't have an education past the 6th grade. It would explain the illogic of his post.

Of course someone's opinion can be expressed in whatever way he or she chooses--be it illogically or disdainfully.

Not sure what an education Nazi is. Perhaps you could explain. I mean, I know what education is. I know what a Nazi is. I'm just not too sure how the two go together, nor am I quite too clear about how my post could be construed as participating in some sort of Nazi-like rhetoric. But I've been wrong before.

I'm not quite sure the rational behind this thread. If Hillary is the nominee "I wont vote" or "I'll vote third party" Interesting. This kind of thinking gives a new meaning to the phrase, "4 more years of republicans".

I, on the other hand will be voting for Hillary but if Barack is the nominee I'll be voting for him.

I apologize if I got it wrong, but I still don't think that there is any valid reason that anyone should advocate that we don't vote for the Democratic nominee. Whoever wins the nomination whether it's Hillary, Obama, or Edwards, will win it for a reason, that reason being that most Democrats in the country wanted it that way. I'm willing to live with that result no matter which or our candidates wins.

39. I don't care about a candidates' supporters--that means nothing
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 01:40 PM by wienerdoggie
to me in terms of choosing a candidate, and I'm baffled that anyone is swayed by the anonymous rantings of .0000000001% of the voting population. However, I don't know what I'm going to do yet in November, if she's the nominee. Hopefully my negative feelings about the primaries and about her will have evaporated--I would rather not see her lose to an R, but not sure I'll bother to head down to the polls. We'll see. I might feel differently in the future.

40. That is indeed the question
If one supports a candidate that shows shades of Rovian tactics, exactly how does one overlook that? Mark Penn is her Karl Rove, and it appears he too has no problem crossing the line. Anything for the win. And remember in 2000, that was the Republican battle cry as the Florida recount debacle unraveled, "win at all costs." There have been several comments in the last 2 days that that in is fact the Clintons' MO. It's okay to muddy your reputation while trying to capture the win; when the smoke clears you can rebuild. I do not buy that. Some of these maneuver will leave scars.

And here's the scarier question. After we saw the tactics used in 2000 to win the race, what if those tactics rear their ugly head on the Republican side as the decision is made in November, and WHOA, buddy, they are met with like tactics on the Democratic side. We have looked into the Republican abysses, and now it looks back at us. If we do not stake out our position that these tactics will not be tolerated by our party now, the whole process will sink into a low lower than 2000, and there might be ... well, you can take it from there, I am sure.

Sam

51. Living In Florida... Just Voted In The "Sorta Primary" For Edwards... BUT
WILL sit out if either Clinton or Obama are the nominee! I know it's not popular, and I would do a write-in, but here in my county we still have "those machines" and as far as I know, we can't write in. I guess I can check "other," but not sure. This county is weird!

53. Well you are either blind, haven't been around long or aren't thinking.
Don't tell me you have paid attention to this board and turned against Hillary for all the Obama bashing. Seems to me most all the post here are Obama supporters making up slime about Hillary. Go back and read the posts and count...that's all you have to do...there is no doubt about it. Also I've noticed the majority of Hillary supporters spend most their time defending Hillary against lies rather than spending their time bad mouthing Obama. Maybe some Hillarites are finally fighting back. You're NOT being OBJECTIVE.

It's our last chance to turn the country around.
Both Obama & Hillary are pandering for conservative votes.
Conservatives suck - they're the assholes who got us in this mess.

73. What Do I Think
Reading the DU boards tends to make me think my prediction of 4 more years of a republican is inevitable. If Barack supporters wont support Hillary and if Hillary supporters wont support Barack in the general election then we are doomed to lose come november. For the record I don't believe Hillary or Barack could be near as bad as any of the republican candidates so I'm going to do the responsible thing and vote democrat in the general election.

The opinions of DU do not reflect how mainstream Democratic America feels in the least.

BTW, I don't know of any Hillary supporters who are going to refuse to vote for ANY candidate that Democrats nominate. I've only heard the Hillary naysayers on this forum say anything to that effect. This is the Anti-Clinton Undergound, donchya know?

"I'm going to hold my breath if I don't get the candy, wahhhh!!!"

These tactics are ridiculous, ineffective nonsense. Imagine if we had such an influx of "anti-Edwards" BS here on a daily basis?

BTW, I support John Edwards and I, like Mr. Edwards, I will support the nominee.

are not there in some capacity for the GE, I will write in a name or leave it blank.

It's not this board because a year and a half ago I was a staunch Clinton supporter. But her tactics along with the fact that I am not sure if it is her or Bill running, AND her polarizing presence have killed her for me.

93. It's a sad state to see the Dems...
...so divided (thanx to Rovian tactics by ALL parties (Dem and GOP)) that now voters are gonna vote based NOT on experience but RACE instead. So far from what I gather, Obama WILL get the majority of the black vote because of why else?? He's now the BLACK candidate. Ignore the fact that he's been wishy washy concerning critical votes or the fact he's only been in the Senate for 3 years..... Oprah sure did a good job promoting the 'agenda' huh?

And I am willing to bet that more black voters will vote THIS time around. If they had voted before, maybe the Shrub would not have had the office twice... shame.

Well people, you vote and you get what you deserve if he indeed turns out to be the closet Republican I and quite a few other suspect he really is.

And now the Obamites are making a stand:

"If Obama doesn't get the Nomination, they will not vote"

Now how un-Democratic is that?? Cult-like attitudes being shown. You people should be ashamed of yourselves.

I see plenty of Hillary and Edwards fans stating that if Obama gets the nod, he'll have their votes.

You Obama people need to grow the f*ck up!

To the author of this post, may as well tear up your VRC (Voter's Registration Card) because you don't have the intestinal fortitude to handle this election year. Obama WILL have HIS time but not now.

96. Du is a completely different place from what it was in 04-05. Its aweful what HRC and
her hubby are doing. The best thing to do is not vote for them in the primary. I am switching to Obama after Edwards third place finish tonight. I have never seen such animosity toward fellow du'ers supporting a different candidate as I have in the past year years. Its sad. Short on dialogue and meaningful political discussions, too heavily laced with short tempered acidic remarks absent any serious thought. Much to much like FR at times.

100. I'm with you, bobbydem. I started as a Kucinich supporter and am now
supporting Edwards due to his running a publicly funded campaign and vowing to fight against the stranglehold corporations have on our country. If Obama wins the nomination I will vote for him but under no circumstances will I vote for Clinton. Depending on the third party choices, if any, I may end up sitting this one out also. I hope it doesn't come to that.

Peace,
