Why I could NEVER vote for Hillary.... It's Disgusting
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 04:49 PM by monmouth
Voice: Hello, This is the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign.
Before you vote on Saturday, you should know that John Edwards voted for permanent trade relations with China. That’s right, John Edwards voted for the bill that cost thousands of jobs. Like the ones in the textile mills he talks about so much down here.

You should also know that John Edwards made nearly a half a million dollars working for a Wall Street investment fund. A fund that’s been profiting on foreclosing on the homes of families; including 100 homes right here in South Carolina. That’s according to The State newspaper. Here in South Carolina, Edwards says he’s one of us, but up on Wall Street he was just another one of them.

Can you trust John Edwards? This call is paid for by the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign.

47. And hers isn't?!
Ms. Clinton does even more than what she claims Edwards to be doing. She's a heavy hitter for the Indian lobbyists for expanded H1B Visa outsourcing that's taking away a lot of our high tech jobs!

44. Barack and the Independant campaigns
An article in the USA Today talks about Independants running campaign ads in Iowa and Barack asked John to tell them to stop because they may not all support him. Now, the same thing is happening in California, and Barack has been asked to tell the independants to stop running campaign ads because they may not all support him. Well, he states, I don't know anything about it so I'm not telling them to stop. Could this be considered double standards, or is this Baracks campaign strategy? I would have started my own thread but I'm not allowed. Sorry for hijacking the thread. :)

Going negative is the only game she knows.

That being said, the fact that his trade votes doesn't match his new platform is a fair criticism.

42. Going negative is the Republican game.
They always do it because it makes people get discouraged and stay home. That only helps the Republicans in the long run. Hillary going negative is a direct response to all the first time voters in Iowa. She's threatened by new voters.

50. that's how it works.
The person attacked has to respond, then there's more media coverage about it, and eventually everyone gets disgusted with both sides and stays home. Its a horrible cycle and its a game Lee Atwater and Rove play because they know it helps their party in the long run.

52. I spent all of yesterday phone banking for Edwards and....
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 06:02 PM by unapatriciated
not once did I call another candidate names or talk about their past or policies. In fact I defended both Obama and Clinton on three calls, one was when the person erroneously stated Obama was a muslim, another was when they used the term that Clinton was a shrill b. I had one call where the gentleman hated all three using the first two terms and added sleazy for Edwards. I was never instructed by Edwards campaign to defame another candidate. I was calling to see if they were voting and who they were voting for period. If they were undecided, than and only than did I discuss Edwards policies not Clinton's nor Obama's. I'm sorry that someone would do that and am sure that the Edwards Campaign would like to know about it. You do know it is possible to trace who made the call to your home since we have to log on and they supply the numbers. At a recent rally Edwards campaign people told us that there might be people who did not support him in attendance. They requested that we did not react with boos or name calling. So I encourage you to contact his campaign and complain.

37. Well lets have a look at what is said.
Edwards voted for permanent trade relations with China, check.

Edwards made an assload of money "learning" about poverty at a hedge fund, check.

The hedge fund where Edwards worked and the different arms of its business did and is doing some shady shit.

You might not like some of the things Mr. Edwards has done with his life, but I see no reason not to expose these simple facts and let the voters decide.

If hillary is running a gutter politics campaign, saying "thats politics, suck it up" doesnt excuse her decisions. It does maybe speak to your expectations of your candidates behavior on campaign.
