416,000 voted in the Republican SC primary.
How many votes do you think we will get? 292,000 is the number from 2004.

1. Do you know total enrollment figures for the parties?
How many are registered vs how many showed up?

Do they have crossover voting in SC?

3. They absolutely do. 70% of Edwards voters in 2004 "enthusiastically supported Bush"

This time, in counties like Dorchester (Republican) turnout is HIGHER than last week
See this thread:

We'll have to see how they'll play it this time - see my prediction

8. You described it ass backwards.
70% of those Democrats who were enthusiastic about Bush voted for Edwards. They were not 70% of his voters. http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/primaries/pages/epolls/GA/index.html

7. I used to live in Dorchester county--if turnout for Dems is higher there
than it was for Repubs, that's very significant, because it has a very high military population. Bodes well for Dems in November.

10. Anything north of 350 K
would probably be very good for Obama, considering that half of SC Dems are African-American. I'll go with Zynx' number.

13. The big untalked-about story
of these primaries is how the democratic majority
is clobbering the dwindling republicans in terms of voter count.
The GOP is so doomed and they know it.
Witness the last throes. It's guaranteed to be ugly
and you can be certain there will be crying...
or rather whining.
