I had such hope for the country. A Democratic administration,
a chance to keep the Supreme Court from making us a slave state, hope for the poor and the middle class, peace... and now we have Democratic candidates with such blind ambition that they would throw our future away for a Primary win. When I say "Democratic candidates" I mean Hillary Clinton and her husband...the man who couldn't keep his mind above his belt buckle even as he held the most powerful, most influential office in the world. I am thoroughly disgusted with both of them...her for not telling him to find something else to do with his life and him...well, him...the first "black President" for playing the race card...for using race to divide...for polluting this race.

I am disgusted, demoralized and, again, thinking about sitting this out, giving up.

I voted for Bill, I supported Bill, I contributed to Bill. I was prepared to support Hillary in the general but not because she's a Bill clone but because she was her own, strong woman...no way now, no way at all. Blind ambition is a really terrible thing and this country is really going to suffer for it.

If you folks can't get out of your own way and see this for what it is, you deserve what you get. Hillary supporters should be on the phones and email telling these people to clean it up and keep this country in mind because, bottom line, that's what's a stake.

8. I know exactly what you mean
and fuck you to others who post here who dismiss the disgust the Clintons create for many. It makes me sick to think of another DLC asshole as prez. the DLC doesn't NOT represent the majority of the democratic party.

If she wins, which I fear she will, as I've stated before - that's it for me. I took the stupidity of a Kerry nomination (and could slap him to this day for not fighting over the election results.) And, after four more years of double plus good proto-fascism, we're supposed to be for corporate candidate #1?

anyway, I think this year might be it for me and I will stop with the pretense that my vote or my opinion count for anything. I always argued against this idea with others who felt this way. Now I understand their total disillusionment, because now it's mine too.

I'm applying for jobs in other countries. Hopefully I will get one of those. If not, there is no reason for me to be a "democrat," or even to vote, after the eye-opening education I've gotten over the last 10 years.

12. Thank you, Raven, it IS about the country, not about
who's male or female, who's black or white, who has what disreputable friends, who indulges in what extravagances.

It's about who has a specific plan for mending this wounded country and the guts and savvy to put them into effect, even if Republicans and the DINOS and the media get offended.

15. I still have hope....I never expected it to be easy and clean....primaries never are
Maybe someday we'll get an honest discussion of relevent issues between informed and concerned candidates with the media coving that discussion honestly.

Until then we're stuck with the shit you're seeing. Pretty sad but also very predictable. And also predictable will be my vote for the eventual nominee. Its time to take the country back, regardless of candidate.

16. Older DUers may remember
in 1972, when the 1940 nook "W.C. Fields for President" was re-issued. It hadn't sold well in '40, because the public was confused as to if Fields was serious or not.

In the past month, I've been reminded of that book too often.
