Poll question: Do You Cheat at Monopoly? Swipe the Free Parking Pot?
When nobody's looking, do you klepto the free parking pot, via five finger discount?

1. Isn't it kinda obvious to do that?
I mean, isn't everyone eyeing the pot the entire time, hoping they'll get it? I think I'd notice if a bunch of money just vanished during a sneeze.

Unless, of course, you're talking about swiping a few bills from it.

3. There is no free parking pot in Monopoly. I suggest you read the rules.
;-)

5. From the Site >>
"Many players use a house rule that puts either a set amount of money (e.g. $500), or all moneys paid to the bank, into a Free Parking "pot" that is won by a player who lands on Free Parking. This rule, which I played with growing up, makes the game longer and more luck-driven"

10. Paying "Chance" and "Community Chest" fees into Free Parking stops bankruptcy to the bank.
So if a player is out of properties to mortgage, the properties go in Free Parking. Otherwise, they would go back to the bank.

7. We used to play that if you landed on Go
you got $400, instead of just $200.

And we played the "Free Parking" rule, too.

12. We Played a Boardwalk Skip Rule...
... if you hit Go after there was a house on Boardwalk, you got 1-5 times payday, depending on number of houses/hotel on Boardwalk.

; )

14. Fun memories
Pajama parties with my girlfriends in junior high, listening to the Beatles, Kinks, Rolling Stones (Paint It Black was a favorite) with a Monopoly game that lasted 2 or 3 days. Special rules.
