If any of those two wins a certain critical burden of proof will be on either Obama's or Hillary's shoulders. If they win and the country goes down the tube even more so than now people will start to think that maybe a woman or black president wasn't such a good idea. If the shit really hits the fan we probably wont see another woman/ minority President again in our lifetimes. We live in a fickle and discriminatory country that tends to throw prejudice by stereotypes. Just look at what happened to the Arab/Muslim community after 9/11...

3. Realistically, I think there will be a burden on either of them...

and I hate it. I say that as an Edwards supporter, which automatically opens my opinion up to criticism. I HOPE that if either one wins the nomination and the presidency that it won't be an issue at all. As women have been saying for decades, a woman must not only do as well as a man, but exceed him tenfold.

I am NOT saying this is a reason not to vote for either one. If one of them wins the nomination I won't hesitate to vote for him or her.

decided Clinton isn't seen as much as a female candidate and if there was any down side to that she has gotten past it in the voters's minds
