BREAKING: Hillary Clinton To Vote “No” On Cloture Tomorrow
BREAKING: Hillary Clinton To Vote “No” On Cloture Tomorrow
By: Jane Hamsher Sunday January 27, 2008 7:12 pm

Hillary Clinton will be in the Senate tomorrow to vote "no" on cloture on the Intel bill. The vote is scheduled to take place at 4:30 pm tomorrow.

I've also been trying to confirm whether Barack Obama will be there. His campaign people have not gotten back to me, but Obama does have a 4pm fundraiser scheduled in Washington DC.

Bravo, Senator Clinton. Well done.

83. Yeah - think about it - why is this news?
No on cloture is self-evidently what anyone who was really a liberal or a Democrat (in the ideal sense) would do.

So why is it "breaking news" when Clinton votes the Democratic way on a historic question? Could it be related to how she voted on almost every other historic occasion - USA PATRIOT, IWR, funding the Iraq war again after the 2006 election...

8. Follow the leader?
You're kidding right? He's scheduled to be in Washington tomorrow. Because he hasn't announced his vote, you somehow think that he either had no intention, or was waiting to see what HRC was going to do? Give me a break, you're grasping at straws now.

That's usually the way it's done around here, when someone states something as a fact. They post the references to back it up.

Obviously you have no proof that he will be there. I suspect he will though. He can't afford to make a colossal mistake right now.

That last statement is what you call a diversion, just like your statement, "follow the leader"

Both have no bearing on this issue

If Obama votes the wrong way, then any criticism is justified

Otherwise, it is just B.S.

throwing all kinds of nonesense, and setting up a straw dog is not good for anything except building disunity

and the more and more that this petty crap keeps up, we will lose 2008 no matter WHO the nominee is because of the this petty diversionary tactics

Talk issues is good, inuendos and personal attacks bad

78. and it is because of the lack of compromise among Democrats why the odds are against us
in 2008

I suspect the repukes will choose mccain, who will choose thomposon as his vp

I suspect that the Democratic candidate's followers will continue to snipe at each other, and cause a lot of bad feelings

and if that continues, I suspect that the executive branch will not be controlled by a Democrat in 2008

Keep up the good work, see how many people you can turn off to your candidate

If Obama doesn't, especially since he'll be IN Washington, I'd be terribly disappointed.

I think it would do both their campaigns good, and the coverage would bring what's happening to the attention of more of the public.

EDIT to add - it would probably be a welcome change of pace for the both of them!

State of the Union address. They'd better be ready with a reply to the State address that details everything they've accomplished -- because Bush will hit them with "do nothing" Congress accusation if they deny him the Intel bill.

When you're done droning on about your shitty candidate you might take notice that this is more important than Hillary fucking Clinton. This is about us. You, me, and everyone else in America who was illegally spied on. Now stfu. k? thnx.

90. Then do us all a favor
And stop with your "he's following her" bullshit parade.

Thank god they've both decided to do the right thing this time around.

Where was Mrs. Clinton back when Dodd was filibustering back in December? Oh, she was too busy to be concerned with my constitutional rights being destroyed.

69. Great for Hillary!!!!!!!!!
As for Obama, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and wait to see if he votes tomorrow. Almost all of Congress will be in town for the State of the Union speech.

Geez, wading into the Clinton/Obama supporters brawl is dangerous. See y'all, and kudos to your candidates for showing some leadership.
