Bill Clinton picked the person everybody here would like to see as president to be his VP and step into the presidency if needed.

I doubt global warming would be the issue it is if Al Gore never was VP and then a successful presidential candidate. Gore probalby saved the world from that threat if it's going to be saved from it.

Yet some want to take a crap on Clinton's legacy to help a candidate who served a year in the senate before he decided to run for president.

I don't get it.

1. Are you trying to diminish Gore now?
Do you know something that we don't, and are setting up the negative light on Gore? Is he next to endorse Obama... Or are you just preparing yourself, just in case?

Really - give it a rest.

4. He would have done MORE as President
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 12:52 AM by Tulkas
A movie about a slide show is saving the world? He did a great job raising awareness but no real action has been taken.

If Al had real power the last 8 years we would already be on the road to a solution instead of where we are now.

****EDIT**** mis read part of the post

Clinton picked a southern democrat for his ticket, not a big deal. Al didn't even get along with Billary while in office, then after Monica it got worse. He didn't even let Bill campaign for him.

8. Clinton did not do nearly enough to help the environment
during his presidency.

Carter did a lot. Carter was the most environmentally conscious of recent presidents. Too bad about Clinton.

12. Actually, P2BA, I think Bush vs Gore lent more to him being in the spotlight than anything else.
Were it not for that historical asterick, he probably would've sank into obcurity.
