John Edwards is my voice, he must stay in it as long as possible
You can kill the messenger all you want. But you should not kill the message. The message is that We the People should come 1st, not the Corporations. That is the message John Edwards has been screaming since he started his campaign in the 9th ward of New Orleans. John Edwards has called for ending poverty, ending Corporate influence in Washington, giving Universal Healthcare and supporting Unions ever since then.

You can insult him with his haircuts, mansion, voting record, but you cannot deny his message. His message is in your best interests. His message is defining this campaign especially in light of the recession we are in now. His message has also helped define the debate. He has forced his message of change and healthcare for all onto the national stage.

For those who call for him to step down, you are totally missing the focal point of his campaign. He is not in it for fame or fortune. He could easily go back to being one of the best trial lawyers in the country and we all know he is rich. He is in this campaign to give a voice to you and me. His campaign is about us. Every time he is in the debate, every time he makes a speech, every time he concedes another primary to another candidate, he speaks about our issues on National TV for everyone to hear. The longer John Edwards is in the campaign, the longer OUR ISSUES are paid attention to.

If John Edwards is in it until the convention, GOOD. He will be calling for ending poverty, ending corporate influence, providing universal healthcare every chance he will get. He will be speaking out for those issues on every interview, every debate, every speech until then. He will be speaking for me.

John Edwards is my voice, is my families voice, is my co-workers voice and is your voice. For that alone, he must stay in the campaign as long as possible.

1. John is staying in.
He's set records for donations the first 25 days of this month, and 52% of those donations were from first time donors, which shows support is increasing.

Over $3 million so far this month, and most of that will be matched. He also has almost $9 coming in matching funds in March, so he has the money to do what he needs to do, and with a surge of first time donors, he knows support is growing.

I don't trust the polls, they are minimizing John, just like the media ignoring him hoping he'll drop out.

But I don't think he will. ;)

2. Thank you... I want him in it till the convention, too.
I think it's important to hear the cause directly addressed in the public arena, not just the symptoms.

3. He has every right to be in as long as he wants.
As an Obama supporter, its not at all clear to me who his votes would got to. But this is beside the point - Edwards isn't doing damage to the party, he's trying to set the agenda. Both leading candidates have already stolen some of his message, which is his intent.

Whether or not it would be good for Clinton or Obama, Edwards has every right to stay in. This is not a Nader situation as was alluded to in another post. Kingmaker is a different role than spoiler I think.

And yes, his haircuts look very good. :)

8. I don't want edwards going anywhere...
The longer he's in it, the better off it is for Obama. Especially in the south.

I think Edwards would make a fine president, but barring a miracle that isn't going to happen. I'd like to see him get a few states, rack up some delegates... and then give them ALL to Obama and be his vp.

then edwards can take over in 8 years.

10. John Edwards all the way.

Edwards is the only Democratic candidate talking issues. And Edwards is the only one taking an aggressive no b.s. stand.

I am ever so proud to support and stand with JE. No other candidate holds a candle to him.

12. That means all the way until the end
He said he'd do it, and I hope he sticks with that. I'm really hoping that Elizabeth's condition remains stable for all that time--I think that's the only thing that could make him drop out.

13. Yes, all the way.
She will make it. Elizabeth is strong. Both John and Elizabeth went into this with their eyes open and because they wanted to serve their country. God bless them.
