Can't we do this a better way?

I support HRC 100%. I do not want Obama to win the Primary. That does not mean I want to destroy Obama. I will totally support him if he wins the primary.

The Primary is a place to face off on issues and platforms. It is also to show contrast on records. It is to vote and choose a democratic candidate that we as Democrats for the most part will all support.

Instead all I see is names and mud.

If Hillary does not win the primary and the candidacy here's what I won't do.

I won't stay home and not vote. I won't go out and vote Indy or Repub. I won't try to destroy who did win.

Here's what i will do.

I will vote for and support the candidate.

Hillary is closer to Obama and Edwards than the Dems are to the Repubs.

When i used to come here for the 2004 race it was much the same with the names and mud and it turned me off.

Is there anyway the HRC, Obama, and Edwards people can debate with each other without tearing down any hope we have of going into the General Election as a unified party?

can we stop the hate or is it too late?

I am going to support HRC 100% I am going to try and convince people they do the same. I will not try to destroy Obama and Edwards. i just don't see the point.

I for one don't forget who's in the WH now and how insane his clones. The country knows it too. So, let's just try to each support the candidate we think is best without all the hatred and the over the top rhetoric.

We can go on and on for hours about our candidate with out getting so muddy. I'm not saying let's hold hands and discuss and then sing kumb-by-ya. get heated...show contrast...hit with the facts, just the midless smears and name calling just turns too ugly.

Doesn't represent the voting public. If it did, Edwards would be ahead of both Hillary and Barack because he seems to win all the DU polls. :)

6. When I joined here, I felt the same way...but...

within a couple of days I found myself feeing more negative, defensive and angry. I feel like any ole' slop can be dished out against Clinton w/o consequence. The fierce attacks and poor sportsmanship by some are actually pushing me away from the process that I was enjoying more before joining up here. I certainly like to debate the candidates, but it seems like you have to come out and launch an all-out-war in order to be heard. :shrug:

and I started to feel the same way too.

I have worked on campaigns. Spoke at rallies. The whole deal. yet I was also feeling a being rage develop as I started coming back to DU. I couldn't believe it. I know this is not the way it's going to work.

11. We all intend well. It's important to (fairly) try to destroy the candidate(s) who can't win.

14. I don't see anything unusual.

I have seen heated exchanges, tempers and name calling in every primary season since I've been alive (46 years now). This is no new occurrence. The nomination will happen, the dust will clear and life will move on. The Democrats will do what they always have - fight to the nomination, and then celebrate if its the one they have always been pushing, or pull out their noseplugs for the general election.

15. no I'm sorry I'll have to disagree

I have been through many elections myself. I have worked on campaigns for many candidates in the past.

There is Rove like name calling and mud throwing going on between Democrats without merit, facts, or rational reason.

People are talking about each other's Democratic candidate choice as if they are far worse than Repubs.

There are people saying they will not vote and stay home if their candidate does not win, as well, encouraging others to do the same. That's pure madness.

The last few elections have been different as we have the internet. People's opinion now reach beyond their neighborhood but to the whole nation.

We can get plenty heated with our debates, our contrasts of records, and our feeling without destroy the hopes of the whole party.

We don't need demeaning names, we don't slander, and most importantly we don't need people claiming they'll stay home. We don't people telling resorting to F themselves because they had a counter-opinion or fact.

There's people telling other to hit ignore on all the profiles who support an opposing candidate. That's not a step in the right direction for a party that must win the presidency.
