9. The thinking goes like this...
when the early primary was approved, it was calling the national party's bluff. There was a so-so chance that the national party wouldn't do anything.

And even when it turned out that all our delegates got pulled, it still didn't matter, because the state used to be a late primary, and even being an early primary with no delegates is better than that, because in the short term, the headlines generated from a Florida win will mean a lot to candidates, and they'll still come here despite their pledges to do fundraisers.

And by 2012, we'll have demonstrated the need for a new primary system, and screwed Iowa and New Hampshire out of representing all things to all people.

At least, that's the best-case scenario at this point.

before he posted it here, just to stir up the pot.

24. Yes, he knew. But like his candidate, he's "in it to spin it." It actually hurts Hill for her
supporters to be so sneaky, it only reminds everyone that Hill is sneaky.

12. Look at a map of the US.
I mean an actual map. Florida is the big swingin' dick of the United States. But it appears to have ED.

And Cubans are a small part of the Latino mix...We also have many Puerto Ricans, Venezuelans, Mexicans, Colombians, et cetera...

One poster said all FL has are "old people, red necks, and Cubans"... Here's the census:

Florida is almost a microcosm of America...That's why businesses like restaurants use Florida for their pilot programs...

13. Billary wants Flordia to count because she needs it
not because she gives a shit about the voters in Florida. If Obama was ahead in Florida, she'd be fighting tooth and nail to prevent those delegates from being seated. If somehow MI & FL end up back in play, then primaries need to be redone there since certain candidates didn't get to campaign there, otherwise, it's a fix. And as you know, we Democrats don't like it when the Fix is in.

14. No. silly. "because my candidate won't win" It's well known that only the
states Obama wins count - the others are "diebolded" or won anyway (delefates" or "illegitimate". So far, there were only 2 races in this primary.

17. How come none of those numbers add up to 100%?
US total you gave is 94%
Florida - 107%
SC - 98%

Now I can understand how "other" (than white, black & Hispanic) can made the different between 94% and 98% and 100% in the US and SC, but how can Florida have 107%?

19. Thank you for reminding me just how dishonest Hill is. Is that her argument you posted?
I know that you know why Florida's vote today is meaningless.

Yet you pretend you don't know why the vote is meaningless.

You will apparently say anything, though.

It reminds me that Hill will say anything.

Thanks for the reminder that she's in it to spin it.

22. Florida would be a great and meaningful primary if only
they hadn't got into this fight with the DNC. You know, just follow the rules that the DNC had the authority to set. This mad dash to be earlier, more influential primaries by FL and MI has made it ugly.

As it is now it's a beauty contest only with no delegates assigned. There is no doubt that Florida delegates will be seated at the convention but they will be coming in as uncommitted like Michigan's.

I do expect Clinton to do well in FL and that alone will give her a boost into Super Tuesday. It's my hope for Obama to stay within 10 points or so.

28. Florida doesn't count because the candidates pledged they wouldn't campaign for votes there
and agreed with DNC that delegates wouldn't be seated. Once again Hillary is trying to bend the rules.

31. You're putting the cart before the horse, though.
The candidates pledged they wouldn't campaign here -- and the DNC stripped the state of its delegates -- because the state party elected to have the primary on Jan. 29. And that, in turn, was only made possible by the state congress voting for it.
