"Handshake Snubgate" DEBUNKED : Ted reached out to Hillary after Barack had turned away.
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 11:48 PM by jefferson_dem
...

Clinton, clad in scarlet, crossed the aisle between their seats on the House floor. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the Democratic icon who had endorsed Obama earlier in the day over Clinton, reached out his hand when she came close.

She took it; they shook. Meanwhile, Obama, dressed in a dark suit, had turned away.

1. After watching her approach?
Remember: there are TWO pictures, not one.

2. But Ted reached out to Hillary, not the other way around.
She did not initiate any handshake much less have it rejected by Barack.

Whatever. This whole thing is too silly, and you know it.

3. You are misinterpreting, not that that is surprising

4. There is no interpretation.
The excerpt there says exactly what happened.

6. Yes it does
And it shows Obama's lack of decency. Not surprising given the desperate straits of the campaign heading into next Tuesday.

5. No. You claim he refused her shake... She never offered.
She was on her way PAST them. Kennedy reached out TO HER. I know it's hard to accept.

11. Do you think insulting me will get you anywhere?

16. He turned to PREVENT a handshake. That's a snub.
It was a deliberate snub in front of cameras which also caught him watching her approach.

The pictures were neither altered nor edited. Anyone can see what happened. Ted Kennedy, being an adult, behaved like one. Obama, not so much.

8. Can't you read?
Obama turned away. Meaning he turned away because he didn't want to shake Clinton's hand!

12. She didn't approach them. She was passing by to her seat.
Kennedy reached out to her. Your outrage is so lame.
