over and over and over Hillary supporters tell us that Obama is PATHETIC AND STUPID for expecting GOP'ers to work with Democrats.

He's the fucking rube for believing you can work with GOPers.

13. I'm not a Hillary supporter, but I think I get this ...
She and Obama support a more comprehensive approach to the issue. And while there is a xenophobic wing in the GOP who wants to kill every illegal ... there is a decent sized group that is more willing to discuss options like path to citizenship and guest worker programs.

It is one of the only issues where factions in each party fight each other.

As an example ... the corporate wing of the GOP likes the guest worker program ... so do some Dems who want to be compassionate. And then you have the GOP xenophobes who hate non-whites ... and some Dems who worry most about the wage impact of such programs.

So you have groups across the parties who reach the same place, but for very different reasons.

And so with that, there is a chance to realign these groups, remove some of the surrounding issues, and make progress.

Not easy, but possible.

2. when Hillary was in Reno last year ...she was asked why she won't push impeachment
her response was that they needed to reach across the aisle to Republicans to win that issue and win withdrawal from Iraq ..that's why I was shocked when she started attacking Obama.

7. Ann Coulter said she would vote for Hillary...
over John McCain tonight on Hannity and Colmes. The R-wingnuts have all been repeating this same talking point for the last two days. I'll post video of Ann's declaration when it is on Youtube...

Until then...

8. I've always said that both of them are far more alike than most of us admit
My little spat with Obama was over where he sometimes appeared to let blame be laid for the problems our nation had to deal with before the Clinton Administration was elected. And as long as Obama seemed to stress unity with Republicans and Independents while so many of his supporters stressed disdain for a huge segment of the Democratic Party for backing Hillary Clinton, it fed the cynical side of me. We need to have a solid base of unity among ourselves before we can reach out to the other side with confidence.

But Obama was spot on tonight about the core strength and values of our Party, and very inclusive toward the base of our Party that currently leans toward Hillary, and with that in hand I support his intentions and efforts to seek a broader coalition. Watching both of them up there on stage tonight, it was really apparent to me that our party should be and can be a whole lot more unified than an hour spent on DU any time over the last month would lead one to believe was possible.

12. Which if the fascist followers of bushncheney-ism would that be???
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 05:23 PM by pat_k
I can't stomach listening to either Clinton or Obama. The lunacy of "bipartisanship" with fascists is too much. And it's probably safer not to listen. Otherwise I might be too disgusted to gather the energy to work to get the nominee elected. Ugh.

From Talking Impeachment in a Foreign Land
(the DC Beltway)

http://january6th.org/talking-impeachment-customize.pdf

. . .The Republican Party has surrendered to bushcheneyism. They
have become a quasi-fascist, followers party -- detached from any
values basis. Impeachment could well be the only way back to
"bipartisan" or "unified" governing.
. . .
