1. You are right!!!
They probably simply begged him to quit debating so that they could appear harmonious tonight. What a farce!!! I'm sorry if Edwards agreed to do that. It was wrong of him. He will probably regret it one day.

2. I think a little Kumbaya was just the thing at this moment
I think the Party needed its ruffled feathers smoothed and its morale restored.

If Bill Clinton would take a chill there would not be a moral issue to discuss here.

Hope he takes the clue and goes to play golf for a little while.

4. It's even Kumbaya in the GD-Primaries forum
If the debate accomplished nothing else, it got DUers talking to each other nicely.

14. Pelosi and Reid seem to do that constantly with our Repugs since we fought to get them back in power
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 10:18 PM by KoKo01
though. And what good has that done us? Bush still does his "signing statments" and rules with Cheney as the Emperor with Cheney his Chief of the Roman Legions (in their fantasy) :-(

5. At the end, Blitzer called it a "discussion." It was more of a
discussion than a debate, and that was not a bad thing.

6. That so called debate was disgusting
I cannot understand how you can so that the debate was a disgrace. The two were very civilized tonight and stuck to the issues. So why is this a disgrace.

8. "Kumbaya" is a good song, my Lord
Kumbaya was a great move for once. While the video of McCain and Romney slap fighting is going around and around ("How do you know my position better than I do?!"), the Democrats finally seize the moment to look levelheaded and unified. They came across as double-teaming the Republicans, which is what they need! I came away thinking they could make a great team.

10. I posted in GDP.. asking if it was the "Joe & Mika" or old Regis & Kathi Lee Show.
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 10:16 PM by KoKo01
It didn't go over well...No one knew what I was talking about. Assume no one here does either. But, I got a question about "Joe & Mika." It's that MSNBC Political Whore Fest Morning show with Ziggy Brzezinski's daughter Mika who is on with former Repug Rep Joe Scarborough.

I'm putting this out for the Political DU'ers who know that show...and the oldies who know who "Regis and Kathi Lee" were. :eyes:

Anyway...it struck me like some kind of Morning Entertainment show...that "debate."

I think Hillary wants Obama for VP...and it looked like he would be willing...

my 2 cents, anyway.

Nothing like a steel cage match to get more people interesting in our government ;-).

Did they debate anything? Still, it was better than the back and forth that was going on.

21. Am I the only person who thought the crowd showed up there for the Oscars and just stayed
when it turned out it wasn't the awards after all?

I mean, the only recognizable person I saw the camera focus on who wasn't an actor or director was Chelsea Clinton.
