"I've never been more inspired by a political campaign in my adult life, and that includes my own"

CARBONDALE - In 2004 Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes battled Barack Obama for the right to be the Democratic nominee for Illinois' open seat in the U.S. Senate. Obama won the primary and eventually the Senate seat.

Standing before a crowd of about 30 Obama supporters at the Carbondale Civic Center Thursday, Hynes said it wasn't long after that race that his old opponent became someone he believed should be the nation's next president.

While a steady snow fell outside, Hynes urged voters to support Obama's bid for the democratic nomination for the presidency, where the field has dwindled to one opponent, Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York.

Flanked by state Sen. Gary Forby, D-Benton, and state Rep. Brandon Phelps, D-Harrisburg, Hynes said Obama's run for the presidency stands alone in its positive message.

"I've never been more inspired by a political campaign in my adult life, and that includes my own," Hynes said, drawing laughs from the audience. "He's got an electrifying personality but he is also a man of enormous substance."

4. Especially since he ran against him in 2004
I've had the chance to meet both of them. Dan Hynes is a real class act and a wonderful public servant. He is definitely someone that will be considered to take over Obama's Senate seat when Obama becomes President.

3. You Obama people are really pumping the propanganda these days.
It called spamming. Every other post on the main page is something in favor of Obama and posted by the same small group.
