Interesting point by Josh Marshall
"In the context of the race, I think this helped Obama because it put the two of them on the same level, the same stature level."

I think there's something to that. Hillary has tried to make Obama her junior in the past. It's kind of hard to do that when it's just them on stage.

1. He IS her junior. He is a freshman senator. She's on her second term.
That IS how it works in the Senate--it's Time On Station. It's why Robert Byrd is top dog.

2. Claiming 35 years experience only to match Obama in a head on debate
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 12:04 AM by DJ13
Makes Obama look good to the undecided voters.

Hillary's 35 years experience li(n)e pretty much forces her to knock Obama out in debates so she doesnt lose in the voters minds.

Just coming out tied makes Obama the winner by that measure.

3. But it's mainly irrelevant
The only problem with having less experience is that Obama has made fewer Senatorial decisions. It is a problem for US, not him. We have two remarkable candidates, none the less.

If it needs to be repeated, here it is: there is no requirement for experience in the qualifications for the Presidency.
