1. Doesn't say how many undecideds they had in their pool.
I'll bet it was literally 3 to 2.

10. Oh really?
3 to 2 indicates a pool of 5 people. 3/5 equals .6 or 60%. 2/5 equals .4 or 40%.

How would two voters be divided 60%-40%?

Stupidest.Troll.Ever

And on what grounds do you call me a Troll?

13. It's your math that needs fixing.
3 to 2

Five total votes

3/5 = 6/10 = 60/100
2/5 = 4/10 = 40/100

First grade shit.

17. Thanks. But perhaps Lirwin was just twisting what I said.
Under Clinton-think, one could pretend I meant it as a range of people even if they knew otherwise. This is how they operate.

21. Do you know how bad you look right now?
Anyone can tell that you changed the little word "to" to the little word "or" in your sigline.

What a tacky, sleazy, small-minded, pointless, irritating, nasty, foul thing to do.

22. It may have been a simple mistake.
Poor fellow prolly signed off right after changing their sig to that. Now I'm feeling almost guilty about the gloating I've done since.

I do want to say the debate had me feeling like we're all in this together again. Don't misconstrue my defense of my math skills as a reactionary stab at a Clinton supporter. It was the funniest exchange I've had on DU in some time.

24. I don't think it could have been a mistake
Though I guess if he/she retyped rather than cut-and-pasted, it could be chalked up to a Freudian slip.

I feel the same way after the debate, but it doesn't change how I feel about these "tactics."

26. There is a tactic issue here.
I'm not entirely proud of the tone I struck but the troll accusation set me off coupled with the awful math. It's the first time I've ever been quoted in a DU sig. That's something to be proud of even if it's a distorted quote.

I'd love to see their face when/if they come back to this thread later.

you can't get 60/40 from a pool of 8.

5. The real time respondant focus group was about 15 people.
Have any idea what the margin of error is for that?

FOX did the same thing, and they were about 70-30 for Obama. Neither one is reliable, the sample is too small.

8. This was a CNN group, right?
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 02:37 AM by TwoSparkles
They showed the CNN group after the debate.

There were probably 30 in the room.

Wolf said the majority agreed that Obama did better on the Iraq issue, and
that they split 60-40 for Clinton.

9. You are aware (I hope) that CNN rigged that "undecided" vote
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 02:40 AM by DJ13
CNN set the group up with nearly 50% Hispanics.

(Admitted to on-air when asked by an email in the after debate analysis.)

Clearly they were hoping to stack the results in Hillarys favor in a state that the Hillary campaign themselves have said they do best with the Hispanic voters.

Why did they always ask you to show your work? If I can correctly guess a random number given the infinite possibilities, that should be worth the points right there.

This is about some extremely obvious, extremely bad behavior that represents the very worst of DU. I, for one, plan to keep this thread kicked at least until that sigline goes away.
