Why shouldn't we have a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket?
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 08:46 AM by YEM
I am personally grateful that their are two candidates that I genuinely like a lot. I a ticket with the two of them simply a pipe dream? Wouldn't it be great? I'd love to hear reasons why it wouldn't work. But I personally would be extremely happy to support either of those tickets.

1. It's hard to imagine them agreeing to it...
But it would work for me.

3. Funny. The Clinton supporters always seem on board with the idea..
But the Obama supporters seem to always talk it down. Why?

2. If Clinton picked Obama, it would be the best choice she ever made.
If Obama picked Clinton it would be the worst choice he ever made. IMO, of course, but I see her as very polarizing and him as something of a true uniter (unlike (p)Resident Fuckface McDrunkard).

6. It's hard for me to see either of them wanting to be veep...
But I guess if the choice is that or nothing, things can change.

11. Agreed. Bad choice for Obama.
The Republicans and Independents who might otherwise vote for Obama in the general would run like hell if Hillary was his running mate.

Furthermore, the Dems who hate her might just vote for McCain just out of sheer protest. Those votes might otherwise have gone to Obama.

He'll lose support on both sides of the poltiical fence if he brings Hillary along for the ride. And that could be a total disaster.

5. So would I but
think. it was Wolf Blitzer trying to insure that Hillary was on the ticket and both were historical precedents with as many negatives and doubts poured is as possible. The Dems might go for it overwhelmingly as well so just about everyone in both parties will be happy in sort of a jovial bi-partisan way, and maybe pleased as punch with a parity government or a GOP win. They may even be forced to include the other on the ticket. We won't take chances on important issues and progressive agendas but the ticket may be wild and risky on appearances.

Well, when this is over we can really get to work on how we will help the country win one for democracy and all the other candidates we need to help in the fall. Not too soon. Eric Massa NY-29 is already at work for his rematch against Randy Kuhl. I'll be there somewhere.

is how Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton would get along as fellow spouses!

8. It could happen.
Conventional wisdom says that a senator chooses a governor for a running mate, so two senators running together would be another historic addition.

If Clinton wins the nomination, Obama would have to wait eight years before he could make another run for the Presidency. Becoming Vice President would have advantages for him, in that regard.

13. I Think We ABSOLUTELY Should. I Am Hoping That No Matter Which Way The Primaries Go, That They Will
absolutely run as a pair.

After watching them both last night I was inspired, proud and convinced that they would make an awesome team. I also started to think a lot about how much criticism, outrage, pettiness and bickering there is towards each of them by some here, and now realize that it's all bullshit. Both of them are incredible candidates, good Democrats, and would make great Presidents. I don't think either of them deserve the vitriol spouted at them by some here and I am convinced now that those doing so are just quite simply wrong.

I'm proud of both of them and they are both great. I'd LOVE to see them run together, and hope to hell they do.

16. It's hard enough to run one Senator
much less two.

And two pretty junior ones at that.

17. I would LOVE to see a Clinton/Obama ticket or an Obama/Clinton ticket.
If they team up together, the energy and momentum would be simply mind-blowing.

I'm all for it!

18. Hillary doesn't want that chump on her ticket. She needs somebody that understands
policy issues and has national policy knowledge. Obama brings nothing but "talk" to the table! It might be Obama's only chance though.
