non-americans purchasing campaign gear...any problems with that?

non-americans purchasing campaign gear...any problems with that?
i just noticed on obamas web site that buying obama gear is counted as a contribution. Since im guessing non-americans are not allowed to make contributions, would buying obama gear be illegal for non-americans?

3. Not illegal, but not easy.
I think there is a phone number on Obama's online store for people who already made a maximum contribution.

I guess non-Americans could always try that.

...you have to fill out the contribution form.
