2. If he does endorse before ST...

It will be because Edwards truly believes that his priorities (fighting poverty,
helping the middle class) will be adopted by one of the candidates, most likely,
in the form of a promised cabinet position, running mate or AG.

If he doesn't endorse before ST--it would appear that he doesn't really
feel that either candidate is serious about Edwards' core agenda.

On CNN, Trippi said that "both camps are knocking down Edward's door".

I imagine a deal will be brokered and announced within the next 48 hours.

Edwards has leverage now, that he won't have after Super Tuesday. There's
a good chance that he'll use that leverage, when he has it. Anything can
happen on ST, and Edwards endorsement might not have the same leverage
after ST.

Endorsing before Super Tuesday is a bargaining chip. Edwards can guide
voters to one candidate, and pretty much decide this election--and write
his own ticket in the administration of his choice. That scenario might
not exist after ST.

My sense is that Edwards will parlay his immediate power and influence into
securing a meaningful place in the next administration. Edward's endorsement
would likely catapult that candidate over the top and Edwards know this.

Again, if he doesn't do this before ST--it might be a sign that he doesn't
really believe that either Clinton or Obama will further his platform--and
that he has no desire to play a role in either of their administrations.

4. No win situation if he did.

He'd either be accused of helping Clinton lynch Obama or of helping Obama gang-rape Clinton. So, no, he will stay out of it.
