Have the Democrats done one good campaign commercial since LBJ's daisy in 1964?
I remember in 2004, watching Fahrenheit 9/11 and seeing at least a half dozen scenes that would have been killer campaign ads: Bush golfing, the WMD skit Bush did, the haves and have mores, ''major combat operations are over'' then a building blowing up behind two troops.

Did the Democrats use any of them?

No.

They did Kerry giving bland platitudes to crowds or sappy bio pieces that looked like ads for feminine hygiene projects. I half expected someone to say, ''John Kerry, what do you do when you get that not so fresh feeling?''

The Daisy ad was issues based and visceral.

We need to be that hard-hitting with issues-based ads on the Bush years: Enron, Schiavo, Iraq lies, assaults on critics and civil liberties, and then remind people that these were brought to you not just by Bush but with the support of his entire party.

1. Totally agree. They (we?) do not realize that most people vote with their emotions
and not by a reasonable analysis of the issues. That is why the pukes' ads are successful and ours are not.

When will they ever learn?

2. Hell no. But I think they should resurrect the daisy one and pull some
quotes from the GOP debate where they all said that they would be willing to attack Iran with a nuclear weapon prememptively !! I know Rudy said that - not sure if McCain did though.

3. Laughing at Agnew was good...
I saw it in college a few years ago.

We should have ran an updated version of this in 2004 with Darth Cheney.

4. laughter isn't quite the right response to Darth--he should have been using his jedi powers to
strangle Uncle Sam or the Statue of Liberty
