Independents & Republicans who voted for Obama might not vote for Hillary.
This is not a statement of disunity in the Democratic party. It is my belief that Democrats will unite when the nominee is picked, whether it be Obama or Hillary. The issue at hand, however, is Independents and Republicans who have become attracted to Obama, and have come out to vote for him in the primaries/caucuses. Those voters are up for grabs in the General Election, and MAY break for McCain if Hillary is the nominee.

Let's just be honest here about this.

3. Oh for crying out loud they both have people who won't vote for them for various reasons.
I have heard from many they will vote for Hillary but not Obama.

4. Sorry, but the Independents are voting overwhelmingly for Obama in the primaries
By definition, an "Independent" is not a Democrat. Hillary is winning mostly Dem votes, who will most likely vote for Obama, since .... they are Democrats. I'm just correcting a distorting thread that is trying to act like Obama doesn't want to unite the Dem Party when he does.

6. They don't get the Hillary hatred
I live out west in Independent land, I get it. These folks who are at least willing to listen to Obama will never even listen to Hillary, let alone vote for her. If people think 2004 was ugly, another Clinton campaign just gives me the shivers to think about it. I'm not going to bat for them again, I can tell you that.

7. Hillary's GE win would be SOLELY dependent on Democrats.
Obama would pull in Indys and pukes. It's true and as simple as that.

8. Not true. I have been told by several people I know who consider themselves republicans they would
support Hillary but not Obama. I think they both have people who will or won't vote for them.

11. So what? The line being used that she isn't electable is bullshit. She will draw voters across
all party lines. That is what this country needs. That is what is called uniting.
