Poll question: Alright, be honest...
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 10:56 PM by Labors of Hercules
In the upcoming WAR that will be the General Election, which team would be most effective in reducing the repuglicon party to a smoking pile of rubble?

1. Other: Obama / Richardson OR Biden
Im sure I could come up with two or three more VP names if I tried.

2. Obama/Clark
sure Clark has endorsed Clinton but I've got no doubt he'd serve as VP if he thought it would be good for the party and the country.

25. Never happen. He would NOT be asked. Merrill McPeak would get the job
IF Obama wanted a uniform in the Number Two spot.

29. I doubt McPeak will be asked to be VP--he's not held elected office--very risky.
Although he will probably get a cabinet post.

31. Wes hasn't held elective office either. And he consorts with the enemy.
You reward your FRIENDS. That's how it works...

Unless you have to make an accomodation, like JFK did with LBJ.

33. I doubt Wes would be Obama's VP myself--I agree with you, he's not
going to be rewarded for jumping to Hillary's camp and campaigning against Obama. I suppose it's not impossible, but very unlikely.

35. picking Clark
would be the olive branch to the Clintons and her supporters

Clark may not have elective experience but he certainly isn't a neophyte when it come to Washington.

9. Obama/Progressive Governor
Richardson or Dean would be good choices.

I like John Edwards, but I don't think two senators is a good idea. And he would make a better AG than VP.

10. Obama and any democrat viewed as tough on terrorism & good on military decisions
All Obama needs is some experience in the war/defense department to help reduce his perceived weakness on the experience issue.

But that's not going to happen. :-(

14. Biden / Anybody
He knows McCain very well - enough to be respectful, but also to know McCain's record and weaknesses.
Not a veteran, but noone would accuse him of being clueless about the military, he's fought for mine-resistant vehicles, been to Iraq & Afghanistan many times, and his son has been given notice to go to Iraq later this year

Domestic and foreign policy expertise. His reponse to Bush's SOTU. His handling of hearings on Afghanistan this week. noun, verb, 9/11. No family scandals.

Most democrats can at least tolerate him, and independents and moderate Republicans respect him.

Not that I'm biased or anything :D

22. I like it too
I don't like Webb all that much, but he's got the right blend of military credibiity and care for working people that would compliment Obama. I suppose it might sound racist, but I think the fact that his wife is Vietnamese would bring a nice element to the ticket too. And being from Virginia. I think that would be just a killer ticket.

26. Webb just has it goin' on.
He's no-nonsense, and he smacked down both Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman when they were on Meet the Press, and I'll never forget that. :-)

You have one helluva Senator in Virginia! My only fear now is that we're going to wipe the Senate out of crucial talent!

19. Obama/Richardson.....
a well balanced ticket. Obama's Charisma/Vision/Judgement with Richardson's Talent/Wisdom/Experience Richardson is also Gov of one of the states that the DNC has aimed for. He can help shift the SW.

Although the greedy part of me wants Obama/Edwards..sniffle...sniffle.... but it wouldn't work...snifle...
