BREAKING! GALLUP: HILLARY CLINTON'S GENDER ADVANTAGE OVER OBAMA NARROWS
Edited on Sat Feb-02-08 11:51 AM by Zueda
http://www.gallup.com/poll/104104/Hillary-Clintons-Gender-Advantage-Over-Obama-Narrows.aspx

Whereas there was a 13-point difference between female and male support for Clinton in the Jan. 18-20 interviewing, there is now just a 6-point gap. And whereas Obama was operating with a 10-point deficit among women compared to his support among men roughly 10 days ago, that gender gap in support for Obama is now just 3 points. In general, the patterns of support for the two candidates by gender are much closer to one another than they were just 10 days ago. Gender now appears to make less of a difference.

Clinton is the first female to become a major party's front-running candidate for the presidential nomination, and her particular appeal to female voters has long been considered one of her political strengths. If Obama continues to increase his appeal to women to the point where Clinton's gender gap is neutralized, she will have lost one of her most reliable bases of support going into next week's all-important Super Tuesday vote.

5. From the link:
Comparing the three-day average of polls conducted Jan. 18-20 to the three-day average of polls conducted Jan. 28-30 shows that while Clinton's level of support among men has essentially stayed the same, she has lost 8 points among women. At the same time, Obama has gained 6 points among men, but has gained even more -- 13 points -- among women.

6. Cautiously optimistic about polls
I do not think they the have ability to capture the younger voters. Obama is rising.

7. These are PRE DEBATE numbers
Rasmussen's numbers, in contrast, include a one day sample of post debate.

11. The OP posted yesterday's story
and framed it as "Breaking" because he/she was apparently upset over Rasmussen's new numbers.

13. Let me pose a lil reality here......Just say that obama happens
to win the presidency and his 4 years are liken more to Carter's then WJC's. Now how far is this going to set back another AA from running? Don't come running to me and saying you got " buyer's remorse". We tried to tell you "experience" matters and aptitude plays one hell of a role in being president.

Another item of interest here since I am in a bad mood as I see the whore media fall all over themselves to just touch the hem of obama's coat.

Will this same whore media that has elevated obama to the status of "messiah" be as pro obama as they were the first 4 years plus pro bush? Will the whore media keep obama upright when the country is no better off after a year, after 2 years, 3 and 4 years since the whore media is partly responsible for this? Oh my my, soooooooooooo many Democrats believe every word the whore media feeds them.

14. Politics is interesting
When Obama first started running, all I saw were positive stories.

Then Obama faded.

Now Obama is on a roll.

Will the media continue such positive spin? Of course not.

I read the Washington Post every day during Bill's two terms. Most of their stories about Bill were negative, yet Bill left office with very high approval ratings because he had solid economic accomplishments that benefitted the majority of the people.

So, the question is: Will Obama govern well in spite of negative coverage?

I think his choice of a vice-president and of cabinet officials will be very important. I'd love to hear him discuss some of the people he'd have in his cabinet.
