Kibitz to proObama's Pit Crew: NASCAR Ad (DAYTONA 2 Weeks from NOW!!!)

Dear prObama Pit Crew:

I don't know how many of you know your way to http://www.nascar.com/races/tracks/">Daytona or any of these other tracks, but allow me to give you a - well, "crash course" on how to reach a few NASCAR fans. NOTE: Daytona is just over 2 weeks out. http://www.nascar.com/">Note the countdown clock on the NASCAR homepage. This is on NASCAR fans' minds right now.

First, ya gotta have a team you're rooting for. That includes http://www.nascar.com/drivers/list/cup/dps/">the driver AND the pit crew. Rapid response matters both in NASCAR and in politics. (See? They're not so different after all.)

Second, ya gotta know http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/headlines/cup/01/28/esadler.gem.sponsorship.19/index.html">who the sponsors are, bearing in mind that (as the link to the left suggests) there are now multiple "primary sponsors" for many drivers. This is like checking the "other" candidate's FEC filings, and other backchannel support methods (e.g., in-kind contributions, subsidized use of corporate jets, etc.).

There's plenty more wheels on this metaphorical NASCAR team 18-wheeler, but let me skip straight to the idea. Hillary's car (with Wal*Mart and other corporate sponsorships emblazoned), with Obama drafting right on by her (with a smile on his face) for the checkered flag.
