Poll question: Did you support the war in 2002, and who do you support now?
Edited on Sat Feb-02-08 09:29 PM by silverweb
New DUer, anyothername, asked this question in _this_ thread and also asked a paid member to start a poll. I volunteered, so here's the poll.

Looking forward to seeing the results myself.

Thanks, anyothername, for the poll question -- and welcome to DU! :)

On Edit: I forgot to include the rest of anyothername's request: "If you are for Hillary, but did not support the war, I'd like to hear the argument for supporting Hillary, when she didn't support you, in 2002."

2. What other?
I checked in case someone else made a poll for the question, as anyothername requested, but didn't see one and still don't.

i'd also ask, to any hillary supporter, who did not support the war, how do you rationalize your support for hillary, when she did not support you in 2002? it's a key question, that i hope some thought is given to.

6. Great idea for a poll
If you have been opposed to the war since BEFORE the Iraq War Resolution, if you opposed the Iraq War Resolution, if you KNEW in fall 2002 that it was caving in to vote for the IWR, you are not likely to be voting for the one Democratic candidate who has yet to be right on Iraq.

John renounced his support long ago, and because he did so early and has been right since, I wanted him to be our president. I still think he would be the easiest victory to attain, but since isn't happening, it's down to these two choices.

There hasn't been a single time in the past five years Hillary Clinton has told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about her Iraq War positions. They are built on one thing and one thing only:

Her presidential ambitions, and the impact her Iraq positions may have on that.

I wish it weren't true, but it is. I've watched her every step of the way, and I find such devotion to self by her revolting. 4000 dead soldiers. A million Iraqis dead. Two million Iraqis displaced. I don't need her calm, measured smile and another weasel worded response from her.
