I might have been able to get over Hillary's IWR vote
if she had said she was wrong to do it, but I can't forgive the Kyle Lieberman vote. That is the deal breaker for me.

1. The IWR vote did it for me. The same neocons tried to get Bill to strike Iran and she knew it!

3. Obama has had the same exact record on Iraq since he's been in the senate
It's like he copied Hillary!

2. this one bothers me for both Clinton and Obama
(Clinton supported, Obama skipped - did he issue a statement on it at the time?)

Biden rarely had harsh criticism for the rest of the contenders, but I think the was really disappointed with Hillary on this one.

6. He has a completely different mindset
"Senator Obama clearly recognizes the serious threat posed by Iran. However, he does not agree with the president that the best way to counter that threat is to keep large numbers of troops in Iraq, and he does not think that now is the time for saber-rattling towards Iran. In fact, he thinks that our large troop presence in Iraq has served to strengthen Iran - not weaken it. He believes that diplomacy and economic pressure, such as the divestment bill that he has proposed, is the right way to pressure the Iranian regime. Accordingly, he would have opposed the Kyl-Lieberman amendment had he been able to vote today."

just wish he had made the vote

McCain was the only other one who missed it, and it would have been a nice thing to have against McCain.

9. I wish I really knew why
I've heard Reid played games with that vote and after watching the NV election, it wouldn't surprise me. I don't know why he missed it but that statement is strong enough that it's clear he wasn't skirting the vote for political reasons.

14. Reid pulled a fast one with the scheduling.
He said that they weren't going to have the vote the next morning. So Obama went to a campaign appearance. Then he called the vote.

I'm not saying it's because his son works for Clinton but....

13. It's nice of him to say, too bad he didn't show up to vote and take a real stand on a very
important vote. But we shouldn't be suprised, since his record does show him voting present quite often.

Like I say, it's easy to say something after the fact when you put no skin in the game.

4. hilary stands for status quo..take
a look around and this is what hilary promotes..no vision no leadership just more of the same. She made her choice..it could have gone another way if they had any principles.

5. Hillary talks about the RW hate machine, yet she trusted the crooks in the WH.
As she tells it, she was misled and lays the blame of her unfortunate vote at Bush's feet. Even if I bought that, she had ample opportunity to rectify the mistake but has spent the past 5 years justifying it. Hillary is a powerful Senator from NY, a member of the Armed Services Committee and her last name is Clinton - she should have stood up and spoken out.

8. Exactly; I liked Edwards because he said it was a mistake
and he learned from that mistake.

Clinton hasn't admitted it was a mistake and hasn't learned from it either.

I saw a guy who was willing to learn and change. You can't ask anymore of a person.

10. Just more vintage Hillary, if you ask me.
You can take the girl away from the Goldwater, but you cannot take the Goldwater out of the girl.
