BREAKING NEWS-Obama ahead in California and tied in New Jersey and Missouri with link
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 01:43 AM by Tropics_Dude83
From Reuters.

Latest Zogby polls:

WASHINGTON, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are running neck-and-neck in California, New Jersey and Missouri two days before the sprawling "Super Tuesday" presidential showdown, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Sunday.

Obama has a slight lead in California and is virtually tied with Clinton in New Jersey and Missouri heading into the biggest day of voting ever in a U.S. presidential nominating campaign, with contests in 24 states.

Obama, an Illinois senator who would be the first black U.S. president, also has a comfortable 20-point lead in Georgia fueled by a more than 3-to-1 advantage over Clinton among black voters.

What is your point?

Nobody predicted New Hampshire. Not one single poll predicted it.

The Shillbots are already in denial.

15. You need to turn the herd though
For whatever reason, people need to believe they're voting for someone who can win and not throwing their vote away. We now need to make people understand how important it is to turn out.

17. That's unfrickinbelieveable!
It's amazing!

I spent an hour today looking at polls. You just can't keep up, because there are new polls
out hourly, and they change so much.

If these numbers are true...Obama is completely surging. He was behind by double digits in CA, then it closed to two points
in the Rasmussen poll..now he's ahead in CA????

New Jersey--Clinton was ahead by 10, in the poll I saw earlier today. Missouri, she was ahead in MO as well.

If these numbers are accurate, he is trending upward and bringing in hordes of new voters.

I saw this happen in Iowa, in the run-up to our caucus. Hillary was ahead by several points. However, when the
campaigns kicked into high gear, you could feel something had shifted. The polls changed slightly, and the
race tightened.

We all saw what happened on caucus night...Obama won handily and Clinton came in third.

I thought Obama really needed another week, but if these numbers bear out, he's no longer behind. It's as tight
a race as it can be, and he might even have a slight advantage now.

Damn, this is just mind blowing...

31. If you want to know if these numbers are true...
Watch the candidates during the next day or so.

The candidates do their own internal polling. These
polls are never released, but they are the most
accurate numbers on the planet. They've got voter
rolls that list who is supporting which candidate, and how
hard/soft that support is.

If one of the candidates seems a bit grumpy tomorrow, and
the other one is whistling dixie--we'll know what the internals
reveal.

44. California is getting CRAZY coverage with the phonebanking...
I was calling California tonight and actually pulled back after I heard from several people that my call was the THIRD call they'd gotten from the Obama camp.

I think that many MoveOn members took that e-mail very seriously.

I'm actually refocusing on undecided women in New Jersey and think I'll also give Oklahoma some calls.

45. Zogby Analysis
Pollster John Zogby: The Mac Attack appears ready to launch on Super Tuesday. McCains leads are commanding, except for in California where Romney leads in Southern California and among women, investors, and voters over 50. Romney holds a double digit lead there among conservatives and leads 56%-18% among very conservative voters. Romney also leads among white voters and among those who say that the war on terror and immigration are top issues.

McCain will do well because of his big leads in the other states and because of winner-take-all states. But Romney may at least have a strong showing in California. In Missouri, Huckabee is in second place by virtue of strong support with conservative and (especially) very conservative voters.

On the Democratic side, California, Missouri and New Jersey are so close. Obamas lead in California is by virtue of solid support in the Bay Area and among Independents (by 20 points), men (20 points), 18-29 year olds (31 points), very liberal voters (22 points), and African Americans (75%-14%). Clinton does well among women (11 points) and among Hispanics (64%-29%).

In Missouri, Obama has solid leads in the St. Louis region (16 points), with Independents (7 points), young voters (16 points), and African Americans (62%-26%). He also leads among moderates and men. Clinton leads in Kansas City (7 points), in the Southwest (16 points), and among liberals (8 points), women (5 points), and among voters over 65 (25 points).

Obama leads in both Northern and Southern New Jersey, among men, and among African Americans (74%16%), while Clinton again holds Hispanics (19 points), whites (10 points), moderates (8 points), liberals (8 points), Jews (22 points), women (9 points), and voters over 65.

It is all about delegates and these numbers suggest that both candidates get respectable votes and a lot of delegates.
