Utah Poll: Big Lead For Obama - Obama 53, Clinton 29
And while Democrats across the nation are split over Sens. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and Barack Obama, D-Ill., to be their party's presidential nominee, Utah Democrats are nearly two-to-one in favor of Obama, a Deseret Morning News/KSL-TV survey finished Friday found.

Obama leads the "most likely to vote" Democrats 53-29 percent over Clinton.

2. I thought that Utah was strongly in Clinton territory?
Judging from that odds-tracking site that HughMoran posted.

What the fuck is going on here?

The shifts that we're seeing are almost too good to be true. This is freaking amazing.

and they are important becuz he has paid attention to them and while they aren't huge in delegates if Obama wins big in them they will add up.

8. Obama's small state strategy seems to be working
If he can win the Idahos and the Delawares and the Utah's and the North Dakotas and the Kansas's by a wide margin, he can bridge the gap in other more delegate rich states in which Hillary will likely win.

So if he wins this state by a decisive margin, it says alot about his candidacy and that he's not just a "black candidate".

13. Obama does best in the most conservative states
Look at the most conservative states outside the South and Obama is doing very well there. The South is different because of the a particular dynamic there that apparently doesn't exist elsewhere. In the other right-wing states Obama is dominating. Where does Clinton do best? Blue states.

22. Um that goes to the Obama campaign's argument about electability
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 02:55 AM by jackson_dem
I thought an Obamite would know a part of their Super Tuesday strategy is to win in red states and then argue afterwards that this proves Obama can transform the electoral map.

I love how some Obamites think we should ignore any political data that doesn't come straight from an Obama campaign memo or a ProSense thread.

Read this thread by an Obamite. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4362358

23. Usually they are more conservative than those in California or New York
Again, though, it goes back to Obama's argument about electability. Obamites should be embracing this, not running from it. Oh well. They will embrace it next week when the Obama campaign, with much justification, uses it as their post-Super Tuesday talking point.

I remember the Russian Revolution, and the "bolsheviks". They actually were far from a majority, yet they called themselves the Bolsheviks (means Majority) and were the loudest so they came OFF as the majority. It's a really clever play, but untrue.
