Neither Obama or Hillary offer single-payer healthcare
So, your pitiful and frivolous bickering over who's plan is better, Obama's or Clinton's, is meaningless.

1. Long term, sustainable health care reform IS important
That's why Clinton's plan is better, it provides universal coverage.

Eventually it could lead to single payer.

2. I don't get the bickering over that either...
I'm for single payer, and it's disappointing that neither of them supports it.

3. History shows
Gore-Lieberman turned it down in 2000 and in 2004, Kerry-Edwards turned it down.

It's unfortunate because running for single-payer would have really increased voter turnout (I think).

4. Thank you and you are correct. The long goal is single payer...
but getting something passed is important. I don't think Hillary could create the consensus to get something passed.

She already failed once.

7. And I don't think Obama wants universal health care.
He is just going through the motions. It is not his passion.

Universal is the path to single payer. He has no intention of getting to first base, let alone hitting a home run.

5. This is the plan everyone should be supporting including
Clinton and Obama.

It doesn't mean that people can't buy extra insurance if they want to waste their money, but it will mean that everyone is covered and the money is collected and disbursed from one fund.

Everone would be covered regardless of circumstances not a mandatory garnishment to wages and probably assets like savings accounts, which is a very Republican idea if you ask me. Who said Clinton and Obam weren't Republican Lite? Here is the proof.

6. Having unaffordable premiums mandated
is not meaningless to moderate income people who are going to be stuck with them.

8. It is a first step...
and I think that they are both being reasonable and realistic about what can be passed through the House and Senate....Universal healthcare is the ultimate goal and we have to accept baby steps in that direction as opposed to screaming "all or nothing" and having no change be the new mantra.

9. I'd agree
If I didn't think the new system is meant to put a stop to the people who are wanting a single-payer system.

10. That's right. They both offer "insurance policies" paid for by the
policy-holders not the government.
