In the Lands of Mordor?
Have not been following what seemed like a sorta weird primary election process until the thing became ramped up 30 days ago. Until then, Hillary Clinton was being touted as the 'inevitable' candidate - and I just didn't know how that would work out. Had vague misgivings and wondered what there was about her, and both the Clintons, which motivated her/them to put her out there. Was this a good move? Was this good for the country? Why were we having to deal with this at this critical time for the US?

I was holding out hope for Al Gore. Big time. But, I was then disappointed in Gore and his seeming abandonment of the political process - and all that said about our country, and the Media, and us. I have been living in an alternate universe since Nov 2000.

Examined the candidates in more depth, decided I would support John Edwards as he seemed solid, and the most progressive candidate. He is very likeable, and seemed genuine, and his anti-corporate message resonated with me. A solid guy.

Going into, and after Iowa - I could clearly see the Media Fix was in. There is no other accounting for how the Edwards campaign was marginalized and destroyed. It is as plain as the corn that grows in the Iowa fields in the springtime. Everything exploded into warp drive since then, with the corporate media driving the process. The 'celebrity candidates' move forward amid increasing hype and hysteria.

What is really going on in this country? Is this election process now just another 'get over it', 'move along, there is nothing to see here?' Are we witnessing an election wherein actual votes are not the determinate factor? Is the 'election' being played out and directed as a 'survivor show' with a branding and consumerism reality only? A 'Lord of the Rings' fantasy election a-rama?

Somehow I sense a quickening, in some deephold in the Lands of Mordor. Visions of smirking Cheney, Bush, Wolfowitz, Kristol, Rove....

Enter McCain?
