Barack Obama is no Dennis Kucinich.
One of these two made speech after speech against starting the Iraq War, one made one speech.
One of these two voted against every Iraq War bill that came up, one voted for every Iraq War bill.
One of these two *never* hedged and backslid saying maybe he didn't know if he would've voted for or against the Iraq War Resolution after all.
One of these two campaigned promising immediate withdrawl of all US troops from Iraq, while the other wouldn't even pledge to have them all out by 2011.
"against the Iraq War from the beginning"?
One was. The other was not.
Sorry Barack. You're no Dennis Kucinich.

18. The lead lemming has a following also.
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 09:05 AM by Zorra
"On occasion, and particularly in the case of the Norway lemmings in Scandinavia, large migrating groups will reach a cliff overlooking the ocean. They will stop until the urge to press on causes them to jump off the cliff and start swimming, sometimes to exhaustion and death. Lemmings are also often pushed into the sea as more and more lemmings arrive at the shore.

13. Obama's claim "I was against this war from the beginning" is false.
Never even mentioned the IWR is his "famous" 2002 speech.

3. Obama's decison to fund the war agreed completely with Biden and Dean
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 05:05 PM by Levgreee
I guess Biden and Dean are no Kucinich, either... dunno why people thought of voting for them.

5. But Kucinich isn't running. So, Go Obama.
Unless you prefer another eight years of the GOP in the White House.

8. One of these two is not a candidate.
I like DK alot, but politics is a game of compromise. While voting against a "dumb" war, and later voting to "support the troops" Obama walked a narrow line. If he had voted against "supporting the troops" he would not be a candidate today. DK was the most progressive of the candidates, and the least (with the exception of Gravel) likely to win.

12. No, you're right. Nobody is exactly like anyone else. I, too, think Kucinich is great.....
... but I plan to work slowly and meditatively until we have our country going left rather than right-wing. It's not going to happen overnight like the French Revolution.

16. Obama did introduce a bill to "bring our troops home"
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x4381684

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s110-433

Never scheduled for debate, sent to a committee, and never voted on - not even for a traditional Present from Obama Himself.

"Introduced: Jan 30, 2007. Last Action: Jan 30, 2007: Read twice and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations."
