James Carville should back off the "Camelot" stuff.
I did not watch MTP this morning. However I just read this at MSNBC. I think people should be wary about using the word "Camelot" with any negative connotations.

There wasn't much time for Kennedy to leave an historical mark. First him, then Bobby. I could go on. But it was a good time with a president we really cared about. It is a tactic I notice being used a lot, to imply people are idolizing someone in politics.

Camelot vs the Economy in the mind of James.

Factors at play in the Clinton-Obama battle, they noted, include the Iraq war, the economy, political machinery and even the notion of a new Camelot in the tradition of John F. Kennedy when he created an image of youthful hope.

"If it's 'the economy, stupid,' in their minds, she'll do better," Democratic strategist James Carville said. "If it's Camelot in their minds, Obama will do better."

There is nothing wrong with a notion of "youthful hope", or even hope among the older set.

if you work, have house payments, want to send your kids to college
and worry about medical costs, Hillary is the no nonsense get-things-done candidate.

If you are wealthy, romantic, or daddy pays the bills, then social change is top priority.
And Obama is your guy.

19. Ummm I'm not wealthy,
daddy's been dead a long time now, I worry about medical costs, bills and my nieces and nephews being able to afford college and I think social change is a priority. Because I don't see the things I worry about getting better withouth social change - moving from a me to we society.

I'm planning to caucus uncommitted at Tuesday night, but the Clinton people really do keep making arguments that make me lean toward Obama.

2. Does anyone else doubt a person that has been having sex with an extremist right winger for years?
I think both Carville and Matalin do what they do *ONLY* for money.

6. I remember Camelot, and it had no negative connotations.
At least not until the bullets in Dallas that day.

17. It is not something Carville should use to insult.
And that is exactly what he is doing. We have his number now.

Nobody really believed in Camelot per se....but when someone who is asshole anyway tries to diminish that period he hurts himself.

8. James Carville is an ASSHOLE
since finding out what he did to Kerry during 2004 election,
I've despised the man completely, he is a mole in the democratic
party, and the sooner they get rid of his ass the better.

Talk about sellout. He is prejudice too, listen to him...Camelot

:wtf:

15. God, Deaniac. Get OVER it!
I worship Dean. But Carville is a genius in his own right.
He talks well, is funny, and very good to have out there,
because people enjoy watching him.

16. No, he is cruel in many ways deliberately. That is not funny.
He destroyed our party unity after a big win 06. He did it on purpose.

James Carville makes an unsolicited call to the NYT to diss Dean

And he took it upon himself to say Dean should be dumped...though later he implicated the Clintons and Rahm in it.

Carville lets more slip about the attack on Dean after the election.

You can call us Deaniacs, or whatever. Carville will never be forgiven, nor will he ever have the same image after he ruined our win.

I am proud to still be a Deaniac, and I find your post insulting.

But then lately I find the whole tenor of DU insulting lately.

22. Some of your post have been excellent
and some have been oh so ok, we all have bad days, but this is
where I will disagree with you big time, this man is as poisonoous
as the Black mamba, I don't trust anything that comes out his mouth
and he is quick to sell you to get his reward.

IMO he should be dead, anyone that will accomplish the feat he did
for both Kerry and Dean, should be dead.

Evertime I see him I think of death for him, him and Steve McMahon,
they've been selling the party to Repugs for a very long time.

20. A brutal end to Camelot...Bobby, Teddy, Jackie in front of procession.
I found this great picture at a website called Ludwig Drummer.

Whether it was Camelot or something like it....it is not a era to be treated lightly. I think that people like Carville who say unpleasant things about people like Obama or JFK should be horsewhipped. He is not anywhere near in their league.

I was undecided until the day I voted, though leaning Edwards. It was the people surrounding the Clintons that caused us to vote for and support Obama.
