Aside from physiology, I can't think of a single thing Obama 'shares' with Wellstone.

"When I first got to the US Senate, I opened up the drawer of the desk where I was assigned. And it has the names of some of the great senators who have served. They carve their names in their own hand into the desk drawer, and one of those names was somebody who shared with me this belief that change doesn't happen from the top down. A guy named Paul Wellstone..." Barack Obama told the crowd at the Target Center in Minneapolis yesterday.

1. The ability to excite youth and get them involved in politics?
I thought Wellstone had that ability?

Obama clearly does.

Yeah, it sounds Reaganesque, all right
I'm waiting for the proposals to carve Obama's face into Mount Rushmore, too.

6. As a Minnseotan and a Wellstone supporter, Obama is really reaching with this one.
This kind of pandering doesn't work with me and he should be ashamed to invoke Wellstone's name while trying to garner votes.

Obama....you're no Paul Wellstone.

8. tHAT IS ONE DAMN TIME FOR SURE HE IS NO WHERE NEAR
PAUL WELLSTONE. We see JFK's memory has been lowered so they can compare the two, but I'll be damn if this isn't one Minnesotian who says we will never ever dishonor Paul Wellstone's name.....
