CBS NEWS POLL NATIONAL HRC- 41% Obama 41% Super Tuesday States - HRC 49% Obama 31%
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 06:33 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
The picture in the states voting on Super Tuesday is not nearly as close as the overall picture and offers some good news for Clinton. Among voters in those states, she leads Obama, 49 percent to 31 percent, with 16 percent still undecided.

13. Unless they favor Obama.
If they favor Clinton, then Obama lovers do not want to hear it.

wind up winning even in California.

6. Super Tues. Could be another rout for Obama.
That's the thing. Nobody saw SC coming to the extent that it did, but it came. The same could happen here very easily.

18. You may be right.
He may just be the fittest animal who gets to survive. Its okay if so. Hillary came into this is a really strong machine, if he was able to build his machine by bringing youth votes in, its a well deserved win.

23. That's the other side, she's still polling ahead.
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 06:26 PM by lvx35
And could still take it. I hope she does because I like her health care plan better, but I am really just acknowledging the limitations of my knowledge here. I've been surprised quite a few times here.

edit: My gut feeling has always been that Hillary would take the nomination, for whatever that's worth.

9. The poll is sampled to reflect the national electorate.
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 06:26 PM by ellisonz
A "Super Tuesday" poll would have to be balanced to reflect the aggregate demographic makeup of those states.

Edit: plus, they probably are polling previous voters and so there's no way to account for turnout on a national scale.

It's probably not tied but close with Hillary a bit ahead.

16. "Democratic primary voters"
I take it that means registered Dems. That would explain the Feb. 5 numbers...then again; how is he tied nationally if he's down 18 points in half the country?

Makes no sense to me...

27. Obama with 34% of whites, Hillary with 23% of blacks. They are equal among white men.
Those digits are excellent for Obama, not good at all for Hillary.

28. 491 Democratic primary voters.
That's barely large enough for a meaningful poll, and if you break it down by state (as in the Super Tuesday percentages), the sample sizes are too small to say anything significant, IMO.

I would think that New York might be weighting down Obama's true strength.

32. Yea for New York, New Jersey and California on having...
large populations.

That's all this 49% to 31% statistic tells me.

Thank God the rest of us otherwise insignificant states get to speak for ourselves.

Others might still be in a fog. Who knows? It is weird though. But good for THE LADY! :kick:
