Edwards' departure resonates with Iowans
DES MOINES --- John Edwards became the latest presidential hopeful to abandon his bid for the White House, but Edwards' exit from the race is different from the others who have dropped out so far.

-snip-

Edwards also had the courage to talk about the issues surrounding poverty that weren't popular at the time of his 2004 run.

This cycle he sharpened his message, arguing corporate greed and special interests' grip on Washington led to policies that hurt everyday Americans.

That message resonated with many Iowa voters, and Edwards saw his rivals adopt some of his rhetoric.
