DeLauro To Endorse Obama (sweeps Connecticut's Dem Reps short one who will not endorse)
U.S. Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-3rd District, is telling allies she will endorse Barack Obama for president, political sources say.

DeLauro declined to comment today, but she is formally announcing her choice for president tomorrow at her home in New Haven.

A choice of Obama over Hillary Rodham Clinton, who would be the first female president, is likely to draw wide attention. DeLauro's husband, Stanley Greenberg, was Bill Clinton's pollster, and DeLauro is the former executive director of Emily's List, an organization that promotes the candidacies of women who support abortion rights.

Ellen Malcolm, the founder and president of Emily's List, was an early backer of Hillary Clinton and is campaigning on her behalf Sunday at Trinity College in Hartford. Malcolm was traveling and unavailable for comment.

DeLauro joins U.S. Reps. John Larson, D-1st District, and Chris Murphy, D-5th District, in Obama's camp, while the remaining Democratic congressman, Joe Courtney of the 2nd District is staying neutral.
