2. I Didn't Hear It
That commercial sure pulls the heart strings...It makes you forget about the cynicism ; for a moment...He was my idol as a child and remains so...I respect all three Kennedy brothers but imho Bobby was the most vulernable, the most empathetic, and ironically the toughest and most ruthless...It was his complexity that drew me to him...

7. Barney is on every 6 hours on radio in Boston these days - and I agree on RFK - he was the
real caring for the poor Kennedy early on.

6. I Have An Autographed Picture Of Robert Kennedy On My Dresser Drawers That Is Forty Years Old...
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 04:35 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
I also have an autographed picture of Ted Kennedy... When Ted endorsed Barack Obama I just kept my mouth shut... I was disappointed ...

Back to Bobby...My mom took me to the front of a rope line in 1964 when he was running for senator from NY to shake his hand... My mom and I were watching the returns from the CA primary when he was shot...I walked around with a transistor radio glued to my ear for thirty six hours or so until he finally passed away...

The martyred Kennedy brothers and Dr. King were my heroes when I was ten ...They are still my heroes now...

24. I have a copy of The Enemy Within
autographed by RFK.

When RFK, Jr came to town a couple years ago, I had him autograph it also.

It's the prize of my collection.

14. Thanks For That Picture...
I'm sure you read Jack Newfield's book about Bobby... I remember the part where after touring the Mississipi Delta and seeing children with distended stomaches he wen't home to his mansion in Hickory Hill and told his children what he had seen and how blessed they were to be who they were...

12. I Don't Know
I wish Hillary would have a campaign like that but it would look derivative...

And RFK is sui generis...

13. Along with John Edwards she is, I agree! But Edwards gets a strong acknowlegement here.
I was Hillary almost the whole time (I was looking Biden for his war solutions)

I agree she is a champion of the voiceless especially children in poverety.....But Edwards clearly is a strong voie to!
We ned his help and people like him to help too. No man or woman can fix poverty and health care alone!

LETS NOT NEGLECT EDWARDS HERE FOLKS, HE IS A GREAT ASSET I A WAR ON POVERTY!

I am certain that Hillary supporters agree!

Hillary 08!

16. Are the dead Iraqis she has blood on her hands with " the voiceless"?
To call her a champion of the "voiceless" is indeed a stretch.

17. "we need leadership in the WH that represents the people's interests, not the special interests."
Agreed. But how to reconcile that with Hillary's big money donors and bigshot endorsers?

The strongest stand I have seen her take in this campaign was against a tax increase for the workers making $110,000 which she called middle class and inflated the tax increase to $1 trillion. Given her and Bill's record, it's ridiculous for her to claim the mantle of RFK and Cesar Chavez. Like they would have been members of the DLC.

20. The "full Caroline Ad" with flags flying and pix of her Father...leading in...
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 07:07 PM by KoKo01
must be designed for those who remember her father. Those folks that are being marginalized in this campaign. It's a masterful piece of work. Obama trashes those who are older Boomers while he get's Caroline to do an ad that elevates the memory of her father.

It's great politics...positioning... In that..."You take away with one hand...but give with the other."

19. Those of us who supported other candidates strongly are being torn apart...
Only solution I can see is for Hillary to run with Obama as VP. Then maybe they can hash out their foreign policy and economic advisors. Obama seems to have the newer progressives while Hillary is mired in the Madeline Albright, Richard Holbrooke, Robert Rubin, Robert Altman and Penn and her advisors DLC/or borderline Repugs.

Since I have difficulty with either Obama or Hillary for various reasons...that's the solution that would make an incredible Presidency Choice for Democrats...and it could win.
