Saving Edwards’ legacy
John Edwards’ message may not have moved enough Democratic voters in the early primaries, but the central focus of his campaign — economic justice — deserves a prominent place in the Democratic platform as the race for the White House moves forward

-snip-

The eventual nominee — Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama — should take to heart Edwards’ insistence that the Democratic Party return its focus to the cause of working people and those who live in poverty in America.

“For decades, we stopped focusing on those struggles,” Edwards said in his withdrawal speech in New Orleans. “They didn’t register in political polls, they didn’t get us votes and so we stopped talking about it.”

-snip-

Edwards became the first leading presidential candidate in years to make economic justice the centerpiece of his campaign, giving a voice to the most vulnerable in American society: children, disabled citizens, veterans and the elderly.

2. Vote for him tomorrow -- force Clinton and Obama to listen
If you're voting tomorrow, you still can make your voice heard. Instead of adding to Hillary's or Barack's pile of votes, show them that progressive values still matter and vote for Edwards.

If Edwards' vote totals tomorrow exceed the margin of victory, the two leading candidates will be forced to move to the left in order to woo those voters.

10. He will always hold a place in my heart...
I hope the nominee picks him up. He said he would not run VP again, but maybe, as some rumors have arisen, Attorney General! :)

19. I've never seen anyone disappear so suddenly and thoroughly as Edwards did, in the midst
of all the pre-Super-Tuesday chaos. As an Edwards supporter (up until then), it left me feeling
a little in the lurch. And disappointed, to be sure.

21. Listen. Suspended race is not the first time it has been done & then the candidate returns -
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 06:48 PM by kelligesq
Ross Perot suspended his race for two months after the life of his
daughter was threatened. He was suspended for two months, then came back
in the fall for the fall debates.

The MSM knows what "suspended" means, but is leading the public with words
like "dropped out" and "ended".

Dont you find it odd that not one of them interviewed him or asked why he
was "suspending".

United States of Corporations.

Obama admits he has been talking to John trying to get his "endorsement" read he wants his delegates, and Clinton has also been talking to John for the same reason.

John has said he has not endorsed anyoone and may not until after Feb 6, or may not after that eiether. Hint hint/

My vote and efforts still go to John. He has not pulled his name from any races, in fact has done the opposite, assured that his name is on the ballot in some upcoming races.

If we want a grassroots camapaign, we are the grassroots and will have to work
to get what we want in this country.

Now the race is so tight, he may be the broker.

Or we may just put on a DRAFT EDWARDS campaign at the convention.

It's a long time to November and many things may influence what is coming next.

John has said "wait" , don't endorse. My vote belongs to John Edwards
