Poll question: WOMEN!... ! According to NBC .... The Dem election boils down to us!!!
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 07:16 PM by demo dutch
According to NBC's nightly news' Russert, The Dem election boils down to what choice women (black, brown, white and everthing in between) will make at the ballot box tomorrow!

Not being sexist guys honestly! I'm just amazed at how awesome it is that the passing of the 19th amendment would boil down to this historic fact!

It never been as pronounced as this time ever!

Question is (NBC Quote) Will we honor our mothers (Clinton) or our daughters (Obama)

Oops didn't mean to hit the poll button, sorry!

29. apologize for disagreeing with you?
I never once questioned your motives. You pretty blatantly insinuated that I perceived a threat to my male privilege, and that's why I posted what I did.

You couldn't be more wrong. And your excuse doesn't even ring true - you jumped to the worst possible conclusion, and now you're defending it. You're dishonest and dishonorable.

Methinks thou protests too much though. After five thousand years of female suppression, I get upset when men start complaining about women finally gaining some say in how things are run. Now you can apologize to me.
And btw I'm not voting for Hillary.

36. You haven't told me what you want me to apologize for.
I thought you owed me an apology for your nasty insinusation that my posting "That's been true for a long time" was a sexist, sneering dismissal of women and their vote because it violated my sense of male privilege.

In fact, it was a statement of a simple historical fact. You read much more into it than was actually there.

But fuck it - you've shown your character for all to see. You can have the last word.

38. You have been using words like
“fucking daft”, “terrible accusation” “nasty” and your friend used the word “slander” when all I did was assert a feminist position against male hegemony. I have feelings too and quite honestly I'm amazed how men get upset in the extreme when women fight back. You know what you meant with that original statement. It's just that your signature picture punctuated your statement so well.

I have no idea what's gone on between you two, but MonkeyFunk's post actually supported your statement, pointing out the historical importance of the women's vote, and you let the shit fly.

Here's a sexist remark: Know the origin of the word 'hysterical'?

The boys just can't take it when the tables are turned on them. Yet we just have to smile and take all the insinuations about a woman who would be President. Funny how the word hysteria always arises when women are being put in their place.

14. I got my two assistants registered to vote this past week.
One had moved last year and apparently DMV did not update her address with the Registrar (!?!?!), so I downloaded a form for he and gave her an envelope and stamp. Done deal!

The other one has been in LA over a year after livig in SC a couple of years and hadn't got around to registering. So I did the same for her.

People get it in their heads that it's a big deal and a hassle to register, and it's not. It is more trouble these days because NONE OF THE USUAL PLACES HAVE VOTER REGISTRATION FORMS ANYMORE. The PO and libraries don't have them, and act like you're crazy for expecting them to have them. Going into city and county offices these days is a major security hassle. So thank heaven we can download the form.

Oprah, Caroline, Maria Shriver, etc. were out campaigning for Obama to make it "all right" for women to vote for a man. LOL. Hello? What kind of candidates do they think we have voted for all these years?

No, I don't support Hillary JUST because she is a woman but I don't need Oprah to give me permission to vote for Obama. If he impressed me enough I would. I just thought it was hilarious that people like her really think they need to help us women along in making up our minds.

Dem leadership has always been reluctant to admit that the majority of their party and voters are women, period. That's one major reason why they've lost so many elections in the last 30 years.
