Kos Offers A Prudent Warning To My Fellow Obamans
Let's keep this in perspective people. Eye on the prize.

The Obama campaign has trumpeted the $32 million it raised in January for all to hear. The Clinton campaign, has been quiet, however. Apparently, the number is about $10 million.

"The Clinton campaign would only say they have raised at least $10 million this month."

That was US News & World Report citing ABC News for that info. I looked for confirmation at the ABC News site and found nothing, but the number was also cited by Timmeh this Sunday as fact. So who knows. Also, note that "at least $10 million" could be $50 million, with the Clinton campaign playing coy for strategic reasons. I don't know what those reasons could possibly be, but it's always a possibility.

If true, Clinton is in serious trouble as this thing drags on. Note that Obama's huge explosion of donations came after his New Hampshire loss. It doesn't look like Clinton got a similar boost after her South Carolina loss.

If she can't put this thing away tomorrow, and it's hard to see how she could absent an unlikely rout, her fundraising will continue to suffer vis-a-vis Obama, and that would prove deadly in a protracted campaign. Her best ally at this point is the ridiculous expectations Obama supporters have for tomorrow. Clinton is going to win the day. The key is to limit her margin of victory and keep it close enough for Obama to catch up later in the month and into March and April. But if Obama supporters build themselves up to the point they actually think they can win tomorrow (by citing bogus polls by Zogby, for example, and cherry picking the best of the other polls), then anything but a victory will be a demoralizing letdown.

Our strength will be with our call for allowing the other half of the country to vote in the primary. I predict this thing will come down to my very state a month from now. Remember that nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change!

1. I like it. She's rapidly running out of money for the primary.
Unless she wins really BIG on Tuesday, their campaign will have a hard time attracting the kind of cash required to campaign the next four months.

If Obama gets anything close to a draw Tuesday, he'll have her on the ropes and running out of steam.

2. other sources put her at raising $13M in the same period.

But if she has a big day today, this won't matter that much.

OTOH, if she loses badly, well, hard to see how she continues.

The best guess from all the pundits (and I agree with them) is that neither happens... and then the money thing is dicey but not fatal.

4. not all of that counts for the primary season
Hillary has many double dippers, people who have contributed the max for the primary, and double up and give her what they can for the general election. Those funds have to be kept separate by the campaigns, and she cannot use those earmarked for the general election until after the convention. The Clinton campaign did that so they could boast of raising the most money, when the reality is they are tapped out on the primary side of things. If she loses Super Tuesday, she's done.

3. hey, neighbor!
I didn't think my primary vote would mean a thing. Looks like I was wrong. Ohio WILL count after all!

And now I have to get off the fence and choose. :)

6. Awesome!! And most imporantly**
The Obamanon continues! And Ohio will be the template battleground bellweather (sp?) state. Especially since Florida's delegate situation is FUBAR.
