16. And Obama isn't?
he's a VERY close second to Hillary in just about every lobbyist, PAC and corporate donation category. So in your mind, not taking as much money (in most cases only a few thousand dollars less) makes Obama squeaky clean and uncorrupted? :eyes: Yeah, OK.

18. O doesn't take campaign contributions from PACs, Hilly DOES.
Edwards didn't, either and made that point in his last debate. Hilly's money is dirtier than Obama's. Dont' believe the MSM soundbytes.

Clinton Gets Most Lobbyist Money, McCain Most Help
Jonathan D. Salant Mon Feb 4, 1:29 PM ET

Feb. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Democrat Hillary Clinton has raised more money from lobbyists than any other presidential candidate while Republican John McCain has more of them assisting his campaign.

Clinton took in $823,087 from registered lobbyists and members of their firms in 2007 and the second-biggest recipient was McCain, who took in $416,321, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a Washington-based group which tracks political giving. Barack Obama, Clinton's rival for the Democratic nomination, doesn't take money from registered lobbyists, although he received $86,282 from employees of firms that lobby, according to the center.

McCain has 26 registered lobbyists as campaign advisers or fundraisers compared with 11 for Clinton and none for Obama, according to review of records compiled by Public Citizen, a Washington-based group that favors stronger disclosure laws for lobbyists.

36. And thats a reason to vote for Hillary?
Campaign 2008 has been a crushing defeat for Liberals/Progressives.
We are left with two "Corporate" candidates.

At this point, Obama is the lesser of two corporate evils.
I'm working to limit the damage.

Pointing out that Obama is a conservative Democrat is NO reason to vote for Hillary.

4. Al Gore was the DLC candidate in 1988
The DLC was formed after the 1984 Presidential election, when Reagan-Bush won 49 out of 50 States.

For those too young to remember, Walter Mondale won only in his home state of Minnesota.

The idea behind the DLC was to get the Democratic Party back in a position where it could win back the Whitehouse. They tried first with Gore in 1988. Then with Bill Clinton in 1992.

Just saying, in case someone thinks that DLC = evil.

8. There's a reason Al Gore and John Edwards aren't DLC members anymore
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 04:20 AM by newmajority
even Bill Richardson seems to have distanced himself, given his record as governor, and his positions as a candidate.

The DLC made a good sales pitch in the beginning, which got people involved, basically aiming at reclaiming a Democratic presence in the South. But the founders, people like Al From and Will Marshall were corrupt from the beginning, and the true agenda has become abundantly clear. The DLC's true mission is to destroy the Democratic party from within, by making it a clone of the Republican party. And as sad as it is to accept this fact, the Clintons are 100% on board with that plan.

So yes, the DLC are evil. And that's why the good people who were in the DLC are getting out.

Since then they got Clinton in the white house and lost ground everywhere else, while selling out the party with their idiotic triangulation bullcrap. All they know how to do is sell the democrats out to corporations.

shills, and that does not support or stand for the Liberal ideals I have followed my entire life.

He is just the lesser of two "Centrist" corporatist evils.

Campaign 2008 was a HUGE defeat for Progressives/Liberals.

BIG MONEY won again.

A vote for Obama is a vote to limit the damage.

I absolutely LOVE how you people don't deny that Hillary IS a "Corporatist".
You just insist that Obama is ONE TOO, like THATS a reason to vote for Hillary?

25. "8 years of Peace & Prosperity"
Campaign Slogan?

Were you paying attention in the 90s??

Peace?
Ask the families of 500,000 (that's 1/2 MILLION) DEAD Iraqi children how "peaceful" the 90's were for them.

Prosperity?
For some. For the "Ownership" class.

The deregulation of Industry and Banking that started under Reagan accelerated under Clinton, bringing us Enron among a multitude of other "Corporate" scandals early in the Bush administration. The DLC (and Bill Clinton) is complicit in the "Deregulation Scams".

Perhaps the BIGGEST DLC "Deregulation Scam" is currently climaxing in the bursting of the "Housing Bubble" and the "Mortgage Outsourcing Scandals".

Many homeowners "celebrated" when their home doubled and tripled in value during the 90s for no apparent reason (after more deregulation of course). Their Paper Wealth increased, and many refinanced to enjoy the illusion of "prosperity".
:woohoo:
Well, THOSE DLC + Republican chickens are coming home to roost as this pyramid collapses.

And, of course, there IS NAFTA, GATT, IMF, WTO....Extreme Prosperity for OWNERSHIP. Disaster for anyone who Works for a Living.

MFN status for China made Wal-Mart prosperous....Small Town America?....not so much.

The point is:
I don't think the Working Class can stand too much more "DLC Prosperity".
It just didn't "trickle down" to most Americans who Work for a Living.

The values of a Goldwater Girl Republican are entirely consistent with the values of today's Clinton Democrat (DLC).

*Free Trade

*Welfare Reform

*Deregulation

*Privatization of Commons

*Welfare for RICH corporations (Subsidies for the Helath Insurance Corporations)

*Imperial Wars

*Consolidation of Power & Wealth

*INCREASE Defense Spending

*Pardons for War Criminals (dropping investigations and prosecutions)

*BIGGER Business (fuck Mom & Pop)

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.

PS:
The DLC is EVERYTHING that is WRONG with today's Democratic Party!

No bullshit, spin, useless ornamentation, or distracting trim.

Pure beauty through bare essence.

THIS is everything you need to know to vote FOR Obama without any spin, bullshit, distortion or useless text.

Here.
I'll repeat it for your artistic appreciation:

Ahhhh!

31. That's better than nothing
“I am not currently, nor have I ever been, a member of the DLC,” said Obama, in a statement that substantially reflects a telephone conversation with Associate Editor Bruce Dixon, this weekend. “It does appear that, without my knowledge, the DLC…listed me in their ‘New Democrat’ directory,” Obama continued. “Because I agree that such a directory implies membership, I will be calling the DLC to have my name removed, and appreciate your having brought this fact to my attention.”

The Clintonian DLC has selected every DAMN Democratic Nominee since 1992 as well as move our beloved Democratic Party near to the bat-shit-crazy CORPORATIONS FIRST right. The last thing either "Our Country" OR "Our Party" needs is for The Clintonian DLC to re-gain OUR Executive Branch.
