Hillary Clinton casts her vote -- Bill: "One of the proudest moments of my life"
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 10:59 AM by bigtree
February 5, 2008, 8:56 AM

(CBS)
From CBS News' Fernando Suarez:

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Hillary Clinton arrived early in the morning to Douglas Grafflin Elementary School to cast her vote on Super Tuesday, accompanied by former President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea.

After voting, Hillary Clinton told reporters, "It's a very humbling and overwhelming experience to cast my vote today."

"I hope a lot of people will come out and vote today."

President Clinton schmoozed with voters while his wife was in the voting booth.

The former president later told reporters this was "one of the proudest moments of my life" as he held his hand to his heart.

On her way out, Hillary Clinton added, "I am just very excited about today. We should encourage everyone across the country to come out and vote in this national primary."

The Clintons departed the voting site after taking time to shake hands with supporters waiting outside in the cold.

Clinton is has no public campaign events for most of the day but she will be conducting radio and television interviews from her home in Chappaqua.

5. Funny how the Obama supporters always have to attack.
Even in basically non-political posts.

Not so funny actually.

26. Not an attack just a little
classless. This is just a photo and article about husband and wife voting in New York who happen to be a former President and a candidate for president. A fluff piece. But you had to get your "non-attack" little dig in. No not an attack just classless.

10. I'm PROUD to have voted for HILLARY, too...
Two gay men and one household in Atlanta, GA probably won't make a dent, but I'm happy to have voted for HILLARY CLINTON today. No matter the outcome, I feel proud.

16. now what person would not be proud if given the same situation
to cast a vote for his wife to become the nominee of their party and eventually be President. Think about that for a moment. WOW!

Look at the expression on Chelsea's face. That says it all. When she was 12 or 13 I am sure she might not have fully understood what all it meant for her father to run and be elected President, but now at 27 seeing her mother running for the nomination and the possibility of her mother becoming President, yep the expression says it all....

and as for some obama folks who have to be petty I say, we cannot pass any law to stop folks from being assholes...

22. I know the feeling
It felt like no matter who I chose this morning, I was fortunate to be (a very small) part of history by voting for a woman or African American. I'm a political junkie, but I got a little misty eyed thinking about it while waiting it line.

At my precinct in GA, there was a line out the door - the longest I've seen there, but I don't usually vote in the morning. Compared to the evening line, it was about four times as long.

and who's cheap?

The guy who cheats on his wife?

or the guy who makes fun of him for it?

Frankly, if Bill Clinton was a college professor who did took advantage of his role and carried on an affair with a student, he'd be fired.
