I do not believe you could find a soul that doubts Hillary has the guts to twist Pelosi and Reids arms to the breaking point. But their remains the HUGE doubt that the softer gentler Obama can or will. Whoever is in the Whithouse MUST control that worthless Democratic leadership we have gotten ourselves saddled with.

difference and there will be no change.

10. HE was the president then NOT her! That woman is tough and I'll bet nasty in the backroom...
EXACTLY what this country needs to get out of this godawful mess we are in. We do not need 'Feel-Good Freddies', maybe once the house has been cleaned and restored, but feel-gooders cannot defeat or cleanout jackbooters.

29. In the backroom Hillary was tough AGAINST Alito filibuster. In public she capitulated
to the thousands of activists who called her office.

So....she cleverly joined the filibuster - but just because she knew she was running in a primary in the near future.

Hillary WAS really tough on the senate floor ONCE - when she took to the floor to denounce Kerry-Feingold Withdrawal from Iraq bill. She agreed with Bush that any Timetable for Iraq was wrongheaded.

15. What kind of revisionist history bullshit is this?
Bill Clinton stared down the Gingrich Republicans over the budget impasse. I'm quite sure that Hillary can reel in Peosi and Reid with ease, although my preference would be that neither of those two are in leadership positions in the next Congress.

7. absurd, and here's why
first of all to assume that Pelosi and Reid won't support the new dem president's agenda is totally ludicrous. Secondly, so is the mindless meme that Obama isn't a fighter. He's proved that dead wrong. Thirdly, there will be at least 10 more dems in the House and at least 5 more dems in the Senate. The new dem president will have a working majority in both houses.

for Bush on his terrorism and Iraq war decisions.

Clinton and Schumer tried to stop Alito filibuster and she spoke against it in the Dem caucus. Only after she got tons of phonecalls from activist Dems did she come out to say she'd join the filibiuster (still wouldn't lead).

Clinton AND Lieberman didn't want Kerry-Feingold Iraq withdrawal vote right before Lieberman's primary and BOTH took to the senate floor to denounce any withdrawal timetable. THAT speech just from June2006 is nowhere to be found on Hillary's senate site. Gee - wonder why.

Clinton HAS been leading Reid around already. His son works for her. Don't even TRY to push this line of BS on those of us who PAY ATTENTION.

17. So you know the Clintons' influence on Reid and Congress to support Bush
but you UNDERSTAND the problem.

Yet you post a thread bemoaning their displayed weaknesses and exalting what you claim will BE Hillary's influence on them in the future.

Why wouldn't she lead them on tough issues opposing Bush the last 7 years, then?

11. LBJ was the toughest party whip we ever had.
If you saw Clinton last night, you know she's more like LBJ was and
not afraid of the following words:

No-bid contracts

Blackwater

Bush and our RUINED international reputation

Veterans

Green

Outsourcing and its related tax benefits (No More!)

Human Rights and Fair Trade requirements

China (and its crappy products and slave labor)

... and lots more.

Plus, she's ready to fight Republican smears from the get-go.

I was impressed.
