For everyone who's cast the Democratic party in the role of soft mommy
and the Republican party as the strong daddy,

For my father who said he was glad he got a pretty daughter,

For my husband who started a sentence, "I think you should vote for..."

For the job where I made $10K than my colleague to do his thinking for him....

For the l33t h@x0rs who ignore me because I can't possibly be a geek....

For my mother who was told in the 1950s that the bank doesn't hire women for the management training program because they just get married and have babies....

For her again, who was told, "Oh! Your husband is a professor so we didn't think you really worked for the money!"

For everyone who has shit on the candidate's head but failed to bring her down,

For all the women who've been shit on,

This Hillary vote is for you.

6. Bravo..........
And for the next generation who has no idea what the fight has been like, who take for granted the right to buy birth control pills, who take for granted the sexual harassment laws, who take for granted legal abortion, and who don't even realize they need someone looking out for the interests.

7. Boy, how many times have I heard those...
...however, my dad never made it a secret that he wanted a son to take over his business, and, told me to not get an education because I'll get married anyway.

9. Yep. I'm looking forward to the happy day
when there are NO MORE second-class citizens:

Not women,
Not African-Americans,
Not poor white males,
Not undocumented immigrants,
Not Africans caught in civil war,
Not Chinese workers,

NO ONE.

Education, health, work, family, housing and pay opportunities for ALL.

16. Huh. I was recently told here on DU that women are in no way treated differently.
Not second class citizens and that there's no such thing as a salary gap (just some crap I was spouting off)

17. I was told: "your husband is a doctor and you're pregnant so, we're making cuts
now, you can go... I told them "I can prove that you didn't find me too expensive until you found out I was pregnant" - and I got to stay until my due date. And this was happening in the 80's.
So, yeah, this vote is for all of you, and me, and for my daughter - so, by the time she turns 18, the "tears" threads will no longer be in the vocabulary of those times.

21. Remember when newspaper want ads
had Help Wanted--Men, Help Wanted--Women

And the jobs for women were all nurse and clerical jobs?

This Hillary vote is for all us women who lived through that.
