Bizarre or funny Poll stories anyone?

This morning I went to vote. The room I voted in had four desk type polls on each side of the room. I got my ballot and took one of the desks, it had a two foot high card board piece around three sides, so no one could see who you were voting for.

I was trying to concentrate on the ballot, and the man next to me kept trying to talk to me. I have to admit, I was kind of anal about the whole thing. I did not want to talk to him. I did not know if it was appropriate. I just wanted to concentrate on the ballot, get it done, and get the hell out of there.

He kept on muttering until I had to pay attention. But by that time, a poll worker came over to help him. I heard the man next to me then ask the poll worker where he could place his vote for Bill Clinton.

A light bulb went off in my head. The guy next to me, I would assume, was mentally challanged. I felt bad at first for not helping him, but then again if I had of helped him I would have pointed him to the Edwards option. NOT

1. These two women came in and said "we're here to vote for Barack Obama".

I was so embarrassed! They were reprimanded by the poll workers for electioneering but they didn't do anything to them.

2. I am not sure about all of the rules when it comes to polling places. I am not even sure if you can

wear a tee shirt with your candidates name on it. I wan't taking any chances.

3. A cop gave me crap for unloading a vanload of geezers in the handicapped zone,

(I had no "handicapped plate" but I had people on canes and walkers aboard) but shut up when an eighty nine year old woman told him to "Stop being such an asshole."

5. He was pissed because it was cold and raining, I suspect.

But he must have been bereft of judgment, too. I was carting some pretty old 'cane/walker/crutch' specimens.

It was good that the guy got the spirit, because I had a few more loads after that. I got 'no noise' on my return trips.
