:) what I saw at my polling place ==>
The weather conditions were bad. lots of slush on the ground and more falling out of the sky.
It was not the "before work" crowd, it was a bit later than that, about 9:45.

There were only 2 people holding signs outside and those were for Hillary (they had dismantled by the time i left, the weather was really bad).

The turnout was good for a primary, a steady stream of people. The whole town of about 30,000 votes at one place, the High School gymnasium. I am in a fairly affluent suburban town north of Boston which typically goes slightly republican.

I looked at each of the precinct tables where we entered and the piles of democratic ballots were all much smaller than the republican piles. I think that could mean 2 things: More republicans were staying home and not voting and/or more independants were taking democratic ballots. Most people that I saw holding ballots were holding the ones with the pink stripe on top which was the democratic ballot.

The thing that warmed my heart the most>>>> An elderly couple checking out before me wanted someone to check their ballots for them because they wanted to make sure that they voted the way they intended. The little old man was saying, "are you sure? we want to vote for OBAMA." The man assured them that they had checked the right box on each of their ballots.

over & out from Massachusetts :patriot:

9. For sure
The Greatest Generation couldn't do it (Kennedy killed)

The Baby Boomers couldn't do it (Bush, Clinton, Bush -- for what, 20 years?)

So now the babies of the Baby Boomers have their turn.

6. Having lived in an area where many are Repugs,
As many were older people, I think that in such an area a large amount of voters use absentee ballots.

Precisely because they know the weather in November is often bad.

So due to the absentee vote, I am not sure how much you can tell one way or the other about it.

In fact, nowadays, large numbers of us Democrats vote absentee - people mistakenly believe that that way there is a non-hackable paper ballot.

14. Wanna hear more "Heartwarming?"
In this same precinct, with the elderly Repug voters, the election judge for that precinct would actually trumpet his beliefs while he walked around the polling place.

Twice I complained to the County but all they said was "Well we need the warm body there."

Grr!

18. Eeeewwww.
Yeah, trumpeting beliefs in the polling place is NOT cool.

Warm body? Sounds more like "hot air" to me!

23. Sometimes if a lot of people then respond to an OP
It seems like a comment will end up anywhere!

Anywhere at all in the topic.

No harm done.

13. Only one polling place for your town of 30,000?
I used to live in a a town of the same size in Massachusetts, and we had quite a few polling places at the various schools, and even some churches, I think. Must be one hell of a gym to accommodate that many (turnouts in MA are typically fairly high, even for primaries).

24. I think less than half of the residents vote and
we used to vote at all of the schools. They've found it less disruptive to the schools to vote only at the high school. It's also easier for the police department to concentrate on the one school. And yes, the gymnasium (field house) is huge.... i mean HUGH11!!!!!!11!

19. I just voted a few minutes ago, and...
When I asked for the Democrat ballot, the woman with the Repuke ballots sighed and said "I guess my role is done..." I suspect that would indicate high Dem turnout here as well, down on the South Shore. :)
